Do you want to help create safe, meaningful and development-oriented leisure communities for children and young people in Aarhus North, and are you an experienced leader, or a strong educator with a desire to take the next step in your career?

In UngiAarhus we believe that good leadership is developed in practice. Therefore we are looking for both those who already have leadership experience and those who have shown leadership potential through coordinating, professional or developmental roles and are now ready to try their hand at managing staff.

As a pedagogical leader in Klubben i Lystrup and Legepladsen Søndergård you will play a central role in shaping the offers that create well-being, community and strong pedagogical environments for the club’s children and young people. Here you work closely with everyday life – and close to children and young people – in an active environment where relationships, participation and shared experiences are in focus. You will be a driving force in further developing a club offer of high quality, a strong collaboration culture and engaged staff.

We are looking for a pedagogical leader who can see themselves in the role below

Through clear communication you ensure good organization that creates overview for staff, children and young people. Clarity and visibility are daily priorities, ensuring that you have a finger on the pulse and know what is going on in the area.

You lead the team of staff as a professional and learning working community, where the focus is on developing the task, inclusive processes and a good working environment.

As a people manager you are close to your employees and provide individual feedback and professional sparring with both the leisure-educational vision and with local priorities in mind. You have an eye for the employees’ professional and personal development areas and for the group’s well-being.

You also thrive with the operational side of the leadership role, including finances, recruitment and daily administrative and communicative tasks.

Together with your leadership colleagues at UngiAarhus you lead in cross-club collaboration across clubs, schools and day-care facilities – and you contribute to the broad leadership community in the organization.

About Klubben Lystrup and Legepladsen Søndergård

Klubben Lystrup and the pedagogically led Legeplads Søndergård are part of UngiAarhus ØST and provide the framework for meaningful communities for the area’s children and young people.

The target group is diverse, and we work with both general and special educational approaches. We believe that all children and young people should have the opportunity to participate in strong communities and feel that they belong.

As a leader you will be responsible for nine staff distributed across two sites. It is a staff group that:

  • has a strong workplace community
  • is focused on professional development
  • is curious about special education and broader child communities
  • enjoys experimenting and trying out new ideas
  • uses humor actively to create energy and good relationships in daily life.

Klubben Lystrup has

  • 80 members from 4th to 9th grade,
  • a larger group of children with special support needs
  • a staff group of five employees and a student.

The club has good facilities at the local school and offers a wide range of activities including:

  • Mountain bikes
  • Cooking
  • Pool
  • Creative activities
  • Graffiti
  • Gaming
  • Trips and other various weekly activities.

In addition, the club participates in larger city-wide events and has a collaboration with the local school, including the special class.

Legepladsen Søndergård is a pedagogically led playground with

  • own site with animals: horses, chickens and rabbits
  • three part-time playground staff and a youth worker
  • focus on creating practical and meaningful communities for children and young people – among other things through internship programs where they can try out different tasks and develop their competences. This is done in close collaboration with Alternative Learning Arenas , UngiAarhus City-wide, schools and other agencies.

Everyday life calls for both structure and clear рамes, but also flexibility and the ability to adapt to new situations. For the club’s children and young people it is important that there is room for spontaneity and that activities and initiatives can be adjusted as needs, interests and possibilities develop.

We offer

  • A diverse staff group with a strong workplace community, focused on professional development and special education in inclusive children’s and youth communities.
  • An engaged staff group that thrives on experimenting, trying out new ideas and bringing humor into daily life.
  • A large community in UngiAarhus with opportunities to participate in city-wide activities and events such as OMG! Festival, Vårsalon, Musvågecup and Summer on Ø as well as shared staff days and courses.
  • A large and diverse leadership group where we are ambitious together while also focusing on well-being, sparring and development in the leadership role.
  • A fixed collegial sparring group with four other pedagogical leaders where you can draw inspiration and receive sparring on your leadership tasks.
  • Ongoing leadership sparring through both regular and ad hoc meetings with your leader and deputy leader.
  • A structured onboarding program and ongoing support, guidance and sparring from the common administration.

About you

We are primarily looking for a strong pedagogical profile with desire and courage to lead the development of communities for children, young people and staff.

You may already have experience as a leader.

You may have been a coordinator, team leader, professional resource person or project manager.

You may have taken the first steps toward leadership through special responsibilities in your current job.

The most important is not that you have tried everything before. The most important is that you are curious about leadership, can build relationships and want to develop both staff, communities and pedagogical practice.

You have a pedagogical education and experience with children and young people. Experience with the 10-18 age group is an advantage, but we also weigh your potential, your relational competence and your desire to create development.

We would like you to match the following

  • Are relationally strong and build trust, build good relationships and meet children, young people, staff and partners with respect and interest.
  • Practice inclusive leadership and believe that the best solutions are created together, and you can create follower-ship through dialogue, involvement and psychological safety.
  • Are close to practice and interested in everyday life and can translate what you see and hear into relevant leadership and development.
  • Have a clear focus on people and are curious about staff well-being and development, and you prioritise visible and present leadership.
  • Are professionally curious and interested in leisure education, special education and the development of strong communities for children and young people.
  • Can create progress and plan, coordinate and carry out development projects together with others.
