Educator for maternity leave cover at Præstø Børnehus

We are seeking one educator for 37 hours per week in a maternity leave replacement until the end of March 2028 with an expectation of permanent employment.

We are opening a new kindergarten group on 1 November, starting with the first 6 children. We have hired a very skilled assistant, who will be professionally supported by the neighboring room you will join (there is a door between the rooms).

Professionalism, recognizable structure, joy and a good laugh, immersion, curiosity, shared culture and collaboration on our common core task are some of our keywords.

We have just had an exciting joint pedagogical Saturday, where we initiated the process around our shared evaluation culture.

In addition, we participate in the research project Strengthened language assessments and are a sparring partner to another daycare facility in connection with All Children’s Daycare.

Our house has 150 enrolled children spread across 9 rooms, of which four rooms are infant groups and one playroom for day care. We have two toddler groups and three kindergarten groups, with a fourth on the way.

We are located in the beautiful Præstø with after-school care (SFO) as a neighbour and close to forest and shore. We use Brain and Heart for our plans in relation to goals and evaluation, as well as Topi as a starting point for our annual parent conversations about the children’s well-being and development.

We have an engaged parent board and parent association as well as a well-functioning MED committee. We are up to date with guidelines, staff handbook, etc. We prioritize a good working environment and social interaction, which also means that we "talk with each other and to ourselves". We are aware that we are employed in an organizational work community with the core task as a common starting point.

We have allocated time for other tasks and hold staff meetings every other week at midday. In addition we hold staff/team meetings once a month with an academic content as well as a pedagogical Saturday.

We have an appreciative and welcoming approach, involving children’s perspectives, where a framework and learning throughout the day are prioritized highly.

We work in small groups in the rooms and prioritize time and calm for immersion, which means we do not disturb each other between 9:00 and 10:30. Language, nature and science, movement and creativity are part of the weekly activities. We collaborate across the whole house, where bridging and knowledge of both children and adults are in focus.
