The Ship is seeking a nursery school educator with something on their mind

One of our experienced educators will, after 12 years with us, continue on her journey and become a resource educator closer to home - Therefore we can now offer a rarely available educator position aboard our children's house.

We are looking for an educator for our nursery who, with great enthusiasm, high professionalism and interest, can take on the tasks of the educational work in a large children's house with good physical surroundings, sweet children, families and good colleagues.

The position is available for filling from November 1, 2026 or thereafter.

The position is 37 hours per week. If a full-time position is not right for you, we are happy to discuss another number of hours.

Who are we?

The Ship Childcare House is located at Ibsvej 3, 2880 Bagsværd, close to green areas and near public transport. We have a large, exciting house with good space, as well as a relatively new large playground with opportunities for many educational activities.

The Ship Childcare House is divided into 8 groups spread across three departments with capacity for about 130 children aged 0-6 years.

Childcare House The Ship is one of Gladsaxe’s Education Houses for both PAU & Teacher Students.

We have a strong parent collaboration with a clear communication policy.

We have a diverse staff composition - men/women/ethnicity as well as staff with different levels of experience.

At The Ship we have a strong focus on working from a professional approach that supports the work with children's development, learning and well-being, as well as participation opportunities for ALL children. But we also want to become better together. The staff at The Ship have a broad curiosity regarding professional and personal development - adaptable and open to new knowledge and learning.

In The Ship Childcare House there are good physical surroundings, both indoors and outdoors, that can support dividing into smaller groups where children and adults can immerse themselves in play and activities.

We have a strong focus on organizing our learning environment according to the children's development and work heavily with age-appropriate groups. The same applies to our outdoor area, which means we have divided the outdoor space into 3 playgrounds, so each team has its own playground. The playgrounds are adapted to the age groups that use them.

All children in The Ship participate in age-graded project groups together with fixed adults. Here, work is based on the children's engagement, the 6 curriculum themes with competencies & learning goals.

At The Ship Childcare House we work project-oriented with age-graded groups of children based on children's development, play and learning. In the three departments, a meeting structure has been arranged to ensure pedagogical preparation time as well as planning, reflection and evaluation.

Gladsaxe Municipality's professional framework is the basis for the pedagogy that will secure the child’s learning journey aboard The Ship.

As a trained educator in our daycare houses you will receive a permanent Gladsaxe allowance plus an seniority allowance after 2 years of uninterrupted employment.
