About the job

Are you passionate about seeing children with special needs bloom, and would you like to help create Denmark's best special school with KKFO?

We are seeking a pedagogue for December 1, 2026, who wants to combine a passion for special education, a playful approach, and the development of the school environment.

In the Copenhagen Municipality, a new Category 4 special school will be built on Amager in Ørestad South – close to large natural areas and Naturcenter Amager. The school will be a city-wide special school with KKFO, which operates closely with the four existing Category 4 special schools in Copenhagen. Although the school will not be completed until 2030, we already have eight classes and over 80 staff distributed across two sites in the middle of Amager. The position is located in our department at Sundholmvej.

You, together with your colleagues, will have a key role in ensuring that children experience a holistic everyday life with coherence from teaching to the KKFO's leisure activities. The children at our school need structure, predictability and close adult support. With us, management, pedagogues, teachers and assistants work closely together to create good days for all children – with their many different starting points and challenges.

We can offer you

  • a meaningful job where you create a school- and KKFO-day with a focus on the children’s well-being and development
  • a professional colleague group where you are not alone – we back each other up, share knowledge and support each other in daily work
  • a happy group of children in well-being
  • life-affirming encounters with children who go through the world in a very special way
  • opportunity to use your professional skills – preferably in a creative way
  • room to create good structure and continuously adjust the pedagogical methods to suit the children’s development and challenges
  • opportunity for professional growth through ongoing competence development, where you can strengthen your pedagogical insight and other qualifications

We would like you to

  • have an interest in or knowledge of the various challenges of special children and can create the right framework both during school and KKFO time
  • have familiarity with special pedagogical tools – e.g., TEACCH, Low Arousal, KRAP or PECS – and can apply them to support the children’s social, emotional and cognitive development
  • have a development-oriented mindset and will optimize pedagogical practice so we are at the forefront of the children’s needs
  • have a forward-thinking approach and see opportunities in building school and KKFO from the ground up
  • thrive in a close and rewarding team collaboration with different professional groups

Employment terms

Salary and terms of employment according to the applicable collective agreement and within the framework of local pay formation.

The position is 32 hours per week.

In connection with the appointment we will obtain a child and criminal record extract as well as references.

More information

We would like to hear from you, tell you more and show you around the buildings we are in right now. Please contact KKFO leader Ulrik Raff at 21 35 81 20 and hear more about the job, the school and everything else we work with.

Along with your application, please attach your CV and educational certificates.
