About the job

Do you have a strong pedagogical expertise and a desire to put your practical skills to use?

At the Center for Communication and Teaching – Hillerød (CKU) we are seeking a qualified pedagogue or occupational therapist for full-time starting January 1, 2027 .

We are looking for someone who, with both professionalism, presence and curiosity, can support young people with disabilities in achieving increased independence, communication and quality of life. You should enjoy being outdoors and going on trips with our young people, as we have a daily morning round outdoors and take every opportunity to travel on our centre’s buses.

Your working hours will be Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 16:30

About us – a place in development

We take care to find ways to learning and communication.

We are working to become professionally strong in these areas.

  • Visual structure
  • AAC – Augmentative and Alternative Communication

We also draw on strong forces from CKU Skansevej (the former Communications Centre) when needed.

As part of CKU you will have the opportunity to shape development – together with competent, engaged colleagues from many professions.

Music is seen as a natural way to express oneself when ordinary communication is difficult. We collaborate with the music school, and our STU music teacher contributes music to daily life. You don’t need to be able to play yourself, you just need to enjoy music.

We are committed to adapting the environment and pedagogy to the individuals’ sensory profiles, and would greatly value your contribution and perspective on this.

Your upcoming tasks

You will become an important adult for young people at an early development stage – including youths with brain injuries, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism and multiple disabilities.

Your tasks will be to

  • plan and carry out pedagogical activities
  • support the youths’ independence
  • work structured with communication and relationship building
  • strengthen the youths’ self-esteem, motivation and participation
  • create a safe, fun, learning and meaningful everyday life
  • actively contribute to strong collaboration
  • participate in care tasks

We offer you

  • to become part of a well-functioning, professionally strong team of 4 including you, working cross-disciplinary and with high spirits
  • opportunity to express your creativity within special educational settings
  • personal and professional development – including through our overall competence uplift
  • a dynamic workplace where new ideas have room
  • time for both documentation, collaboration and preparation
  • approximately 10 happy young people divided into 2 groups who provide honest and immediate feedback
  • colleagues who make a real difference
  • a workplace that values well-being and flexibility in both work and family life

We are looking for you who

  • are a trained pedagogue or occupational therapist – preferably with experience in the special needs field
  • are not a superhero, but have a good heart and the willingness to find solutions
  • are ready to learn new things and take part in a competence lift
  • are patient, curious and strong in relationships
  • communicate well – both verbally and in writing
  • thrive in collaboration with relatives and external partners
  • can create structure, presence and development in the company of people with developmental disabilities
  • enjoy the outdoors and music
  • possess a driving license

Are you ready to make a difference?

We look forward to hearing from you!
