Egely - in short

Egely is Region of Southern Denmark's secured 24-hour institution for youths between 12 and 17 years who are placed on legal or social grounds. We have a total of 20 places, of which 5 are in the specially secured department. There are about 60 youths admitted per year. Currently we have 2 open departments with a total of 10 places.

When Egely has all places open, we are about 80 employees – primarily pedagogical staff in the Bo units, but also psychologists, health professionals, social workers, teachers and other professional groups.

The youths we work with often have complex challenges with outwardly directing behavior, crime, substance abuse or psychiatric problems.

Our main task is to help the youths find calm and stability, so they can build new life strategies and take steps toward a better future.

All children and youths at Egely are offered education or daytime activities in our internal teaching house, and have their everyday and leisure life in a bo-unit with four other children and youths.

The youths are often placed due to complex social, psychiatry-related and behavioral challenges such as outwardly directed or criminal behavior, substance abuse and other challenges.

Your tasks

As a pedagogue at Egely you get a meaningful and challenging everyday life, where you

• Collaborate, conduct conversations and plan interventions and agreements with children and youths individually and in group processes.
• Take on the role model task in interaction and collaboration with children and youths, including with particular focus on mentalizing, guidance and calm, visible framework setting for everyday life.
• Document pedagogical interventions, structures and approaches in the citizen administrative system.
• Develop, document and evaluate sub-goals, development plans, well-being and safety plans in collaboration with children and youths.
• Plan and conduct inclusive dialogues about the individual's experienced needs and well-being via team-Youth conversations.
• Ensure organization of collaboration and contact with networks and partners around the individual children and youths. Inform and involve parents/guardians continually as needed.
• Plan and continually adjust the support and framework for social communities within and across departments.
• Collaborate professionally and loyally in a team with your colleagues.

We are looking for you who can

• Get an overview of the child’s and the youth’s overall life situation and needs, and plan and carry out pedagogical goals and activities with a view to the child’s and the youth’s possible development.
• Manage adult responsibility in a caring way and with attention to the differentiated prerequisites as a basis to graduate and adapt the effort and demands in collaboration with children and youths about this.
• Work in an appreciative manner in dialogue and have a mentalizing approach in interaction with children and youths.
• Reflect on one’s own practice and make it available across professions.
• Offer the child and the youth credible and accessible adult role models with the aim of creating safety, recognizability and increased well-being.
• Organize and carry out learning processes and development processes with aligned goals in collaboration with the child and the youth.

The practical

Positions are 37 hours per week. In Region of Southern Denmark all positions must be posted as full-time. However, it should be noted that if you choose to apply for the position and you wish a part-time position you must state this in your application.

Your application must include documentation of education, a complete CV and relevant attachments.

Working hours will be in rotating day/evening shifts, every 2nd weekend and on holidays.

Positions require a driving license for a car.

The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position.

You will be informed of base pay, centrally fixed allowances and pension in the collective agreement for: Social-pedagogical staff at 24-hour institutions etc., collective agreement number 32.38.1

In addition to the starting salary, the position may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications. In addition, there may be on-call allowance.
