Dedicated church and culture staff member for St. John’s Parish, Aarhus

A 25-hour-per-week position is available at St. John’s Church in the Aarhus Cathedral Provostry from 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

St. John’s Parish is an urban parish with 12,700 inhabitants. We have an active church life and many diverse offerings and activities in the church and parish house. The parish council consists of 14 elected and 4 ex officio members, in addition to a number of volunteers linked to the parish house. See more at www.sktjohannes.dk.

An important part of the position is to ensure planning and coordination of the church's activities and events, including work with children, youth and families as well as volunteers.

You will be responsible for a number of regular activities, including e.g. baby hymn singing, musical playgroup, spaghetti services, Open House, folk high school evenings, activities for confirmands, and occasional assistance with confirmation preparation and school and kindergarten events. Some of the activities are carried out in close cooperation with the church's ministers.

The work to recruit, retain and spar with volunteers is also an important part of the position.

Responsibilities can be changed and expanded, and ad hoc tasks may be assigned as needed on an ongoing basis.

Salary and employment conditions

Employment is conducted by St. John’s Parish Council, and the primary workplace will be Johannesgården. The salary will include availability allowance, as there may occasionally be work outside normal working hours in connection with church activities and events. There is a 3-month probation period.

The employment will be covered by the Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and CO10 – Central Organization of 2010 and the Organizational Agreement between the Ministry of Ecclesiastical Affairs and CO10 – Central Organization of 2010 for church officials with core duties as the church and cultural worker or church musician and the corresponding protocol for church and cultural workers.

There are education requirements for the position. See § 14 and 15 in Circular No. 10001 of 12/11 2019.

It is a condition that the mandatory basic education for church and cultural workers is completed within 2 years after the start of employment, unless you by virtue of your previous education meet the education requirement.

Employees who do not meet the education requirement and have not completed the mandatory basic education are paid in pay grade 1. The annual salary is to be agreed within the range 350,435 - 442,216 (current kroner). There is a willingness to work for the position. The availability allowance is 36,668 (current kroner).

Employees who meet the educational requirements or have completed the mandatory basic education are paid in pay grade 2. The annual salary is to be agreed within the range 367,122 – 500,621 (current kroner). There is a willingness to work for the position. The availability allowance is 36,668 (current kroner).

OK-24 allowance of 3,654 kr (current kroner) per year.

Salary, OK allowance and availability allowance are quotaed in accordance with the position's appointment fraction 25/37.

An agreement on placing in the salary range is made between the parish council and Kirkekultur.nu, and the parish council is prepared to negotiate a salary that corresponds to the position's requirements and the applicant's qualifications.
