Experienced Automation Engineer PLC/HMI

At Jorgensen Engineering we develop and build complete, automated handling and packaging lines for some of the world’s largest manufacturers in food, pet food, pharma, infant formula and EV batteries. We are now seeking an experienced Automation Engineer who will help bring our plants to life – both at the office and in the field.

About the job

As an Automation Engineer you will be a central part of the project from start to finish. You come in once the contract is signed, and you follow the plant all the way through design, programming, testing, installation and commissioning – up to the final handover to the customer.

This means you will solve tasks both from our address in Odense and at the customer sites, where the plants are put into operation. Since our customers are worldwide, you should expect travel as a fixed part of the job.

In our project execution we work purposefully with simulation and AI – both to test and validate plants before they are built, and to make our solutions faster and safer to put into operation.

Your primary tasks

• Programming of Siemens PLC and HMI in TIA Portal
• Programming of Rockwell PLC and HMI in Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk View (if you are not strong in Rockwell yet, we will help you get there)
• Participation in the project from signed contract to commissioning and handover at the customer
• Commissioning, troubleshooting and optimization of plants – both internally and at the customer site
• Close collaboration with project management, electrical design and mechanical through the entire process
• Use of simulation and AI tools in design and commissioning phases
• Training and handover to the customer’s operations personnel at handover

We imagine you

• Have solid experience with PLC/HMI programming and are strong in Siemens TIA Portal
• If you have experience with Rockwell, robot programming and/or taking greater technical responsibility in projects, it is an advantage – but not a requirement.
• Have a relevant education, e.g. mechanical engineer, engineer or equivalent (experience is weighted higher than education).
• Are prepared to travel and enjoy that part of the job takes place at customer sites
• Work in a structured and independent way and have a good sense of the whole project
• Communicate fluently in Danish and English
