About the job

Do you want to help protect Denmark's digital defense? The Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (FMI) is seeking new cyber security profiles for the Cyber Division. Do you have technical insight, knowledge of security standards, and a desire to work with risk management and security accreditation in critical infrastructure? Then you are the one we’re looking for.

We are in a time where cyber threats are increasing and the demands for robust and resilient IT infrastructure are higher than ever. You will play a crucial role in the digital transformation of the defence's IT systems and help ensure that our systems meet both national and international security requirements – from procurement to end-of-life.

About us

The Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (FMI) is responsible for the defence's materiel and information systems – everything from battle tanks and ships to communications equipment and IT systems across the entire defence establishment.

The Cyber Division is one of Denmark's most specialized units within IT security and IT operations under defence authority. We ensure that the defence's systems operate securely and efficiently – whether used in the Arctic, on international missions or at central offices.

You will become part of the Cyber Security Department, which works closely with the top management and consists of three sections: Cyber Security Operations Center , Cyber Security Guidance , and Cyber Security Risk and Accreditation . You will become part of the latter – a team of experts who advise on and integrate IT security throughout the system lifecycle.

We combine high professionalism with an open and inclusive team culture. We believe that different perspectives strengthen our work, and we create space for both professional sparring and new ideas. Here you have the opportunity to develop your competencies, work closely with skilled colleagues, and directly contribute to Denmark's cyber defense – with the option to work from home.

About the position

As a Technical Risk Manager you will be a key player in the work to ensure that all IT systems and components meet the tightened requirements for security and risk management. You will help professionalize and further develop the work with security accreditation and technical risk management – core areas in the defence's digital operation and development.

You will join a highly specialized team where you both advise and contribute directly to processes, documentation, and technical analyses. The goal is to ensure that all solutions – from IT systems to individual components – can be classified and accredited in accordance with applicable standards.

Your tasks will include

  • Contribute to concrete security accreditations – e.g., system descriptions, risk assessments, security analyses, and non-compliance reviews.
  • Advise on technical security requirements and help with their interpretation and concretization.
  • Contribute to optimizing and further developing accreditation processes and methods – including maintaining guidelines and handbooks.
  • Collaborate with FE and other national authorities on common security methods.
  • Educate and advise the organization in technical risk management and security accreditation.
  • Prepare threat and vulnerability assessments.
  • Participate in relevant IT audits and audits.
  • Provide input for further reporting to management, steering committees, and the directorate

Your role – where strategy and technical expertise meet

You will have a facilitative and central role in cross-disciplinary work, where technical security assessments are translated into concrete, operational recommendations. In which you:

  • Help clarify and translate technical security requirements.
  • Contribute to formulating acceptance criteria and developing future-proof solution proposals.
  • Support documentation and advice necessary for security approvals and system classification.

About you

We imagine that you have

  • An academic education with technical or IT specialization or another educational background with relevant experience.
  • Experience with technical risk management, security accreditation, or IT security.
  • Insight into national and international standards such as ISO/IEC 27001, 27002, and 27005.
  • Good collaboration skills and thrive in the role of sparring partner, adviser, and process driver.

It is an advantage, but not a requirement, if you have

  • Experience from a similar position – e.g., in a public authority, defence-related organization, or a larger company with high compliance requirements.
  • Experience with NATO's technical security standards.

You communicate clearly in Danish and English – both verbally and in writing – and convey technically complex subjects clearly and purposefully to different stakeholders.

We seek experienced and newly educated

Whether you are a recent graduate with the right mindset and theoretical foundation – or experienced with solid practical background – we would like to hear from you. We provide thorough orientation and training.

Why you should apply

You will get close to the core mission of Denmark's national cyber security and have direct influence on how we protect vital IT systems and infrastructure in an increasingly complex threat landscape. The role combines technical depth with strategic importance and collaboration at the highest level – both internally and internationally.

You will have the opportunity to

  • Work in a strong professional environment with great societal impact.
  • Shape IT security work in practice – from strategy to implementation.
  • Develop your competences in collaboration with some of the country's most capable professionals in cyber and information security.

Employment terms

Employment and remuneration are governed by the currently applicable collective agreement.

If you are an academic, you are hired under the currently applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state (Academic Agreement).

If you have an IT education, office education, or another relevant education, you are hired under the currently applicable Common Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organization – The Public Sector (OAO-S Common Agreement) and the organization agreement for office clerks, lab technicians, and IT staff.

Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is the possibility of negotiating a supplement. There is a employer-paid pension scheme attached to the position.

The workplace is in Hvidovre

As an employee under the Ministry of Defence, you are subject to certain special conditions. You must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance throughout the employment period.

As an employee, you are obliged to perform service outside the country, including at units in international operations with a view to participating in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peace enforcement, humanitarian, and other similar operations.
