About the job
Are you happy to build relationships and bring people together – and equally happy with structure, Excel sheets and a good execution plan?
We are looking for a new colleague to the Communications and Events team in Kitchen, Aarhus University’s innovation and entrepreneurship house. You will work with events and community across Kitchen and the Aarhus innovation ecosystem.
We are therefore looking for a profile with professionalism and experience, who can both execute – and have what it takes to get things safely across the finish line.
Events and community in Kitchen
During a year, Kitchen hosts many events and activities for among others students, researchers, entrepreneurs and companies. What unites our events is that they must have a clear purpose and create value for the people we want to reach.
Your tasks will include among others to
- plan, coordinate and carry out both small and large events and activities in and around Kitchen
- work with the entire event process – from assessing the target group and concept to execution of communication, program and follow-up
- coordinate with colleagues, partners and suppliers, ensuring that agreements, responsibilities and deadlines are clearly defined
- develop and strengthen our community around Kitchen and build relationships and engagement among students, researchers, entrepreneurs and other relevant actors and partners
- contribute to communication and content – e.g. interviews, cases and dissemination of activities and results
- contribute to projects and initiatives across Kitchen and AU.
Partnerhuset will be an important part of your role
Right opposite Kitchen lies Partnerhuset, where companies come close to AU.
The ambition is that Partnerhuset should be more than a place where companies have offices. Proximity to the university should be translated into relationships and concrete collaborations with researchers, students, startups and innovation environments, and make it easier for companies to access the university’s knowledge, talent and facilities.
From Kitchen, in collaboration with INCUBA, which handles leasing, and other relevant actors, we will help create activity, relations and connections between the companies, AU and the surrounding innovation and entrepreneurship environment.
You will be one of those who make it happen. You will get to know the companies and other actors, be proactive and create connections to relevant people and environments at AU. You will develop and implement activities such as matchmaking, networking meetings, office hours, company visits, case formats as well as demo and prototype days, and you will coordinate activities and collaborations with the involved parties.
In 2027, Makerspace will also open in Partnerhuset. This will create new opportunities for companies, startups, researchers and students who need facilities for development, testing and prototyping.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who have a relevant professional background and a few years of experience with events, community, project management, communication, partnerships or similar. Your education could be in marketing, entrepreneurship, organization or business – but your experience and what you can do is more important than the exact title on your degree.
You are outgoing and proactive. You reach out and are comfortable taking initiative yourself – whether that means calling the first participants, gathering the right people around a table or being at the center of execution when it matters.
At the same time you appreciate structure. You are used to Excel, execution and time plans, deadlines and clear division of responsibilities, and you get energy from tying up loose ends, following up and finalizing agreements.
In addition, we value that you
- can qualify an idea academically and at the same time translate it into action
- have experience in running events or projects from start to finish
- are good with people and build trust across different disciplines and target groups
- can keep an overview of several simultaneous tasks and collaborations, and have an eye for the details that make a project run smoothly
- work well and naturally with others and share knowledge, responsibility and tasks
- communicate confidently in Danish and can write clearly, ask good questions and convey complex material understandably.
It is an advantage if you know the university world, innovation and entrepreneurship environments or have experience from another large organization with many professional areas and collaboration surfaces. You should want to get to know AU, find the relevant people and create connections across.

- A central role in one of Denmark’s strongest innovation and entrepreneurship environments
