About the job

Do you want to create life, experiences and community at Haderslev Harbour?

In the last five years, Life at the Harbour has helped make Haderslev Harbour a lively meeting place for residents, associations and visitors.

Through activities, events and collaborations the harbour has become a place where people meet, are active and experience community close to the water.

Fortunately, the Life at the Harbour project continues - therefore we are seeking an event coordinator who over the next two years can take the baton forward.

You will help continue and develop the many good experiences, relationships and activities that have already been created, while also having the opportunity to bring new ideas into play and put your own mark on the future Life at the Harbour.

You will be the driving force behind activities and events that strengthen communities and create interaction between the harbour, the town, associations, cultural life, business and the many residents who use the area.

At the same time you will have a central role in the work with Royal Run in Haderslev on 17 May 2027, where you will help create activities and experiences along the route so the whole town can feel and participate in the people's festival around one of Denmark's largest athletic events.

You will create activities, relationships and communities

As an event coordinator you will be responsible for developing, coordinating and delivering activities on and around the harbour. You should be good at building relationships and bringing people together around shared ideas and projects.

Your tasks will include

  • develop and run activities and events along the quay at Haderslev Harbour
  • further develop the concept "Life at the Harbour"
  • create and maintain collaborations with associations, cultural actors, companies and volunteers
  • coordinate marketing and communication of activities and events
  • support the development of new initiatives and partnerships
  • plan, coordinate and evaluate events
  • contribute to other event and development tasks in Culture and Leisure.

A unique opportunity in 2027

On 17 May 2027 Royal Run comes to Haderslev.

In the first five months of the year you will have an important task to create activities and experiences along the route in collaboration with local associations, cultural institutions, businesses, volunteers and the project managers for Royal Run 2027 in Haderslev. You will help make the day a people's festival where the whole municipality can participate and experience the sense of community and pride in hosting one of Denmark's largest athletic events.

Who are you?

We are looking for a person who can deliver results through relationships, engagement and good hospitality.

We imagine that you

  • have experience with project management and project economics - and a razor-sharp negotiator!
  • are proactive and turn ideas into action
  • thrive with many partners and different interests
  • work in a structured way and keep overview, even when the calendar is full
  • take responsibility and work independently
  • communicate well both verbally and in writing
  • have a flair for communication and preferably experience with social media.

It is an advantage if you know the voluntary sector or have experience from a politically governed organization, but these can be relevant backgrounds.

Become part of Culture and Leisure

You will become part of the culture and leisure department in Children and Culture, Haderslev Municipality, where we work for strong communities, active leisure life and good experiences for residents and guests.

With us we believe that the best solutions are created together. Therefore we place emphasis on collaboration, trust, action-orientation and an informal tone. You will have great freedom to shape the tasks yourself and the opportunity to leave a visible mark on the development Life at the Harbour.

What you should know about working hours

From 1 January to 31 May 2027 the position is 37 hours per week.

From 1 June 2027 to 31 December 2028 the position is 30 hours per week.

As the majority of activities take place in the summer period, you should basically expect to work every weekend from mid-May to mid-September.

We are aware that this is a special condition. In return you get great flexibility in planning the working hours for the rest of the year, and the working hours are of course planned in dialogue with your immediate supervisor.

Practical information

The position is time-limited for the period 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2028.

Salary and terms of employment follow the applicable collective agreement.

Start date: 1 January 2027.

Further information

If you would like to know more about the position, you are welcome to contact department head Bent-Ole Østerby at telephone 29 17 02 45.
