Experienced wastewater planner for Frederikssund Municipality

We are expanding, and we are looking for an experienced wastewater planner who can juggle commercial matters, urban development and the regulatory role, ensuring compliance, protecting the environment and, at the same time, co-create the exciting development Frederikssund Municipality is in the midst of. In Frederikssund Municipality we have a lot going on in both urban development and infrastructure projects, which means more exciting tasks with wastewater planning that can realize plans for housing, business and recreational areas. Therefore we are strengthening the wastewater team with an extra colleague.

Wastewater Team

You will join a versatile and dynamic team where we today are 5 employees. We place professionalism, collaboration and daily well-being high on the agenda. We focus on strong cooperation with the utility and developers on handling water in the cities and in the open country; and we are in the process of preparing sub-area plans and a new wastewater plan, which will set the framework for handling wastewater.

The Wastewater Team is part of the Department of Nature and Water with many skilled colleagues who handle project, operation and regulatory tasks within rivers, green tripartite, coastal protection, nature and wastewater. We emphasize community, professional sparring and good collaboration – both within the department and across the organization. In the wastewater team we work particularly closely with the planning department, the building department and the environment, nature and rivers teams around nature protection, urban development and climate adaptation tasks.

The position

Depending on qualifications, your tasks will include

• Preparation of amendments to the wastewater plan for urban development projects.
• Contribute to the preparation of sub-area plans for Frederikssund Municipality.
• Preparation of screenings and assessments in accordance with the Environmental Impact Assessment Act.
• Contribute to the ongoing operation of tasks in the wastewater group, including permits, orders, consultations etc.
• Participate in projects concerning and planning wastewater management and stormwater management, including urban development projects and combined sewer overflow projects.

We are looking for you, who

• Have a relevant natural science degree, for example cand.techn.soc., cand.scient., engineer, environmental technologist, agronomist, biologist or similar.
• Have several years of experience with wastewater planning, public administration and the regulatory role in wastewater – or the stormwater area.
• Can understand wastewater technical statements and assess the consequences for nature and the environment.
• Like dialogue with citizens, colleagues and other authorities as well as the utility.
• Are approachable and understand how to communicate a message clearly and understandably in Danish in writing and speech.
• Have thorough knowledge of the Environmental Protection Act, the Wastewater Regulations and other relevant legislation.
• Can navigate in a politically steered organization.
• Can work independently and in a structured manner, and at the same time be a team player.
• Have experience with WebGIS, Electronic Case and Document Handling (ESDH) and preferably SBSYS and A-case.
• Are curious and take responsibility for the shared task.

Salary and employment terms

Employment is according to the applicable collective agreement and the salary is negotiated with the union that has bargaining rights.

There is a full-time position with a start on January 1, 2027 (start January 4, 2027).

Place of employment is Administration Center Slangerup, Kongensgade 18, 3550 Slangerup.
