Are you eager to jump in puddles, light fires and take the children on explorations in nature? THEN you might be our new pedagogue!

We are seeking an engaged and present pedagogue who will help create a kindergarten everyday life with a focus on strong child communities, language development, outdoor life and inspiring learning environments.

Børnehuset Knolden is located in scenic Himmelev, and is part of Area Midtøst.

We have 74 children, distributed across two age-integrated nurseries and three kindergarten groups.

With us we use the outdoor space as a learning and development environment. Nature gives children the opportunity for movement, immersion, imagination and shared experiences. We see the playground and the local environment as important pedagogical spaces where children can be curious, exploratory and participative.

You will play an important role in supporting the children's linguistic development throughout the day. We work with language in play, in daily routines and in smaller groups. At the same time we are deliberate about creating learning environments where all children feel they belong and have the opportunity to participate.

The everyday life with us is characterized by great engagement, good atmosphere and room for laughter.

We are particularly focused on play, nature and outdoor life - both in working with the individual child and with the large community.

We collaborate broadly with the local community, including Bernadottegården, the Viking Ship Museum and the book bus

Our professional starting point is based on a resource-oriented view of children. We recognize children's differences as a strength and as a natural part of broad child communities.

We work for an educational practice where the boundaries between general and special pedagogy blur in the meeting with the individual child and the individual group. The goal is to create participation opportunities and inclusive learning environments for all children.

We use the language ladder as a systematic tool to follow the children’s development and qualify our pedagogical work. On this basis, we design learning environments that support the individual child's linguistic participation and development throughout the day.

In Roskilde Municipality it is politically prioritized that all houses are allocated preparation time. The preparation time should give staff the opportunity to work more systematically with the core task, and at the same time create better frameworks for professional development, wellbeing, job satisfaction and strong communities – without compromising childcare time and staffing levels.
