Family-, placement- and network consultant for the Children and Youth Section in Ballerup Municipality

Would you like to help develop a new team of family-, placement- and network consultants? If so, take a look here. We are looking for a new colleague starting from January 1, 2027, who wants to find solutions together with children, families and their networks and at the same time contribute to developing a strong team.

Our good colleague has retired, and therefore we are seeking you who want and dare to be involved in developing our new team – the FAN team. The team is a merger of family- and network consultants, safety plan consultants and foster care consultants.

In the Children and Youth Department, we have for several months been working with an organizational adjustment that accommodates that we have become more numerous in recent years. There has been a need for an adjustment, which among other things means smaller teams, management closer at hand and a consolidation of various supporting functions.

For the team of family-, placement- and network consultants, the adjustment means they will be part of a larger team with other consultants, including social work consultants, school consultants, etc. The team will become a supporting team for all child- and youth advisers. At the same time, we have moved away from the more classical way of thinking about foster care consultant tasks.

With our new organization, we want our family-, placement- and network consultants to work even more closely together and to some extent have a task community.

The team’s tasks are predominantly to work in complex cases with a high level of concern for children’s and youths’ well-being, in cases where children are at risk of placement or where a decision about placement has been made. Our experience is that the best solutions to ensure the child’s well-being and development are often found and supported in the child’s network. Therefore, we would like to become even better at involving the children’s and families’ networks before, during and after a placement.

Therefore we are seeking in the Children and Youth Department an engaged and dedicated colleague who, in collaboration with the other professional groups in the department, as well as management, shall support our mission to integrate the network as a sustainable solution in the child’s life.

What we particularly want to develop in the new team is our work with families’ networks in both preventive cases and in placements.

Your tasks may thus include

• Prepare safety plans in especially complex cases with great concern for children’s and youths’ well-being
• Identify networks in connection with placement and return home
• Involve networks in sustainable solutions for families and children
• Shorten intensive programs focusing on involvement of children and families (under the Child Act §§ 30 and 32)
• Support that children can remain in the regular communities
• Engage in close collaboration with the child and youth advisers
• Approval of network foster families
• Support of network foster families

Your competencies

It is important that you have broad knowledge and experience within the child social sector. It would be an advantage if you have experience from working with children in vulnerable positions and that you thrive with a high degree of independence in your task solving. At the same time, you must enjoy collaborating with others.

• You have a social-pedagogical or social work educational background and possibly a relevant further education within family treatment or similar.
• You want to work in an inclusive and persistent way with families.
• You see great value in involving the family’s network.
• You work systematically with close follow-up.
• You have solid knowledge of the child and family field.
• You have knowledge of network-involving methods.
• You see great value in involving the child in their own case.
• You enjoy a varied daily life and thrive when there is plenty to do.

Recruitment process and salary

The employment date is 1 January 2027.

We expect to hold interviews on 10 November 2026.

Application deadline: 3 November 2026.

We offer salary and employment terms according to the collective agreement for Pedagogical staff in 24-hour institutions and home visitors in municipalities and according to the collective agreement for social workers and social information officers in municipalities.

Employment takes place according to principles of local wage formation and after agreement with the negotiating organization. The salary depends, among other things, on your education, documented seniority and qualifications.
