Family Counselors for the Family & Youth Center

We are seeking three family consultants for our holistic family intervention (HFI) and one for Family Treatment.

HFI – Holistic Family Treatment is an intensive initiative aimed at families with significant concern and complex, multifaceted problems where there is a need for a special holistic and coordinated approach.

The initiative can be developmental, supportive or compensatory and is planned based on the family's concrete needs and situation. The work is carried out holistically with the child, the family and the family's daily life, including relationships, structure and frameworks, with a focus on creating stability, well-being and development.

As a family consultant in HFI you work closely with your colleagues and the team leader to plan and adjust the intervention according to the family's current needs. You must be able to think creatively, find new ways and adjust your approach when necessary, while keeping to the professional direction. You must be able to address the needs where they are and, together with the family, find solutions that make sense in their everyday life.

You will be part of close cooperation with relevant partners and you must be able to actively involve the family's network as an important resource in the intervention.

Our professional community in family treatment

In family treatment we work developmentally with the family's relationships and dynamics – both through individual conversations and in joint processes. As a family consultant you are responsible for methods and bring the approach that best supports the family's goals and needs into play. For us there is room for many different methods, from the talk-based to the more experiential.

We work holistically and look at the whole child’s and the family's situation. Together with the family you translate the authority's purpose statement into concrete, meaningful goals, where the voices of the child, the young person and the family are central. The aim is to create lasting changes and build a strong scaffolding around the family that can stand on its own when family treatment ends. The target group is broad, and you will work with children and young people from 3-18 years and their families.

About us

Family & Youth Center is Fredericia Municipality's service unit in the children and youth area. We handle a wide range of interventions for children and young people aged 0–23 years and their families.

We are about 65 employees, mainly pedagogues, all of whom are engaged and professionally dedicated.

Salary and employment terms

In accordance with the applicable collective agreement between KL and the union representing the negotiating party .

Reference

Upon hiring, references will be obtained.

Upon hiring a criminal record check will be obtained. Employment is contingent on the criminal record check having no remarks of significance for the performance of the specific position.

Childcare certificate

Upon hiring, which includes work with children and young people, a childcare certificate will be obtained. Employment is contingent on being able to obtain a childcare certificate without remarks.

Fredericia Municipality is a tobacco-free workplace.

The positions are full-time with day, evening and weekend work.

Start date December 1, 2026 or by agreement.
