FGU Aarhus in Egå is looking for a relationship-oriented teacher for Motor and Mechanics

We are seeking a dedicated teacher who is passionate about motivating young people to pursue education and employment. Can you teach the subject Motor and Mechanics and have a pedagogical flair? If so, we would love to hear from you. We are looking for the right personality who can follow and develop the students based on each individual student’s position - academically, personally and socially.

Students may have many good reasons to start in FGU - the Preparatory Basic Education. Maybe they are tired of school or unsure of what they can and want. Maybe they have dropped out of a youth education and need to find their way back. Maybe it is difficult for them to fit into an education or a job. Or perhaps it is hard for them to participate in committed communities.

About you

• You are interested in communities and have experience with young people who may need clarity, support and direction.
• You are a trained mechanic, bicycle repairer, etc., and you have experience with or interest in engines and mechanics - e.g., cars, bicycles, lawnmowers, mopeds, etc.
• You thrive in a development-oriented organisation, and you have interest in and are able to collaborate with colleagues on the core task: the development of the young.
• You are able to make the subject theme Motor and Mechanics and the subject PASE (personal finance, workplace learning, collaboration and vocational training) practically oriented.
• You are adaptable and a good colleague.
• You are a bridge-builder and a role model for young people; you do what you say.

This is a permanent position of 37 hours. Salary and employment terms are set in accordance with the applicable collective agreement with the Education Union.

FGU’s target group is young people who, for various personal, social or academic reasons, have not taken the direct path to upper secondary education or work. The young people may have reading/writing difficulties, diagnoses, gaps in knowledge or be undecided about job and education.

FGU Aarhus is a 2-year Preparatory Basic Education (FGU) in three tracks: General Basic Education (AGU), Production Basic Education (PGU) and Vocational Basic Education (EGU) and is aimed at young people under 25. FGU Aarhus is a self-governing institution normed to about 550 students and consists of about 70 teachers spread across three schools.
