About the job
Would you like to help develop FOA's shop stewards and strengthen the local unions' work with learning and competence development? And can you simultaneously drive development projects from idea to concrete results? Then you may be our new regional training consultant in FOA Region Eastern Denmark.
As a regional consultant you will play a central role in the collaboration between FOA's union and the local unions. You will support the unions' work with learning, competence development and organizational development – particularly with a focus on FOA's shop stewards – and at the same time drive cross-cutting development projects in FOA.
A role close to the unions – and with a view to the whole organization
The majority of training and competence development of FOA's shop stewards takes place locally. Therefore you must be close to the unions' realities and be able to translate needs and challenges into concrete actions.
You will advise and spar, facilitate processes and contribute to the unions strengthening their own capacity to work strategically and systematically with learning and competence development. Region Eastern Denmark has two regional consultants. You each have your own areas of responsibility, but work closely together on assignments and development efforts across the region.
The position is located in FOA TR at FOA's headquarters in Copenhagen. Here we work with education and competence development of shop stewards, organizational representatives and case handlers.
You should expect considerable travel, training and meeting activity, including some activities outside normal working hours.
Your tasks
You will have a broad portfolio of tasks where advisory, development, learning and project management go hand in hand. You will, among other things:
- support the unions' strategic work with learning and competence development of TR, AMR and FTR
- advise on educational planning, pedagogy, frameworks, finances and administration
- develop the unions' local capacity for learning, including through local instructors
- coordinate and develop the education collaboration in the region
- plan and conduct teaching, workshops, courses and conferences
- facilitate processes and contribute to organizational development
- identify competence and development needs and develop new methods, digital opportunities and learning formats.
You will also be a project leader on cross-cutting development projects
A substantial part of the position is to drive cross-cutting development projects in FOA. You must be able to translate strategic goals and ideas into concrete plans and results and create progress in projects with many actors and interests.
This means, among other things, that you must be able to structure projects, involve relevant stakeholders, create ownership, follow up on progress and ensure that the results are implemented and anchored.
You do not need to have the title of project manager today, but you must have experience taking responsibility for complex development tasks and getting people, processes and deliverables to move in the same direction.
About you
We imagine that you have a relevant education and/or experience from a similar role. You combine a strategic perspective with a strong practical understanding and thrive in an organization where solutions are developed together with others.
We especially emphasize that you
- have solid experience with project management, organizational development and process facilitation
- have an understanding of learning, pedagogy and competence development and preferably experience with teaching
- can create structure, direction and momentum in complex tasks
- work analytically and can translate knowledge and data into concrete actions
- have strong digital skills and an interest in new digital tools and learning formats
- are good at building relationships, collaboration and followership
- communicate clearly and precisely – both verbally and in writing
- work independently, take initiative and at the same time thrive in a close working community.
Familiarity with the trade union movement, public workplaces and the role of shop stewards is an advantage, but not a requirement. The most important is that you have the desire and ability to understand FOA's organization and the shop stewards' reality.
We offer
You will get an exciting and varied job with a high degree of independence and the opportunity to influence both tasks and solutions. Your everyday life will alternate between strategic development, project management, advisory, facilitation and close contact with the unions.
You will become part of a development-oriented and informal work environment with high professional engagement, good development opportunities and committed colleagues who share knowledge, help each other and succeed together.
Salary and employment terms are negotiated in accordance with the applicable internal agreement with the possibility of negotiating individual supplements based on qualifications. In addition, there is an employer-paid pension scheme at 15%, a holiday allowance of 3% and a 4% flex allowance. We accrue seven weeks of vacation after one year of employment, have a massage/physiotherapy arrangement, a gym and various staff associations.
The place of employment is FOA, Staunings Plads 1-3, 1790 Copenhagen V.
