Foreman for the Pipe and Machinery Department at Karstensens Shipyard

On behalf of Karstensens Shipyard we are seeking a Supervisor for the Pipe and Machinery Department in the repair department. Here you will play a key role in a company known for high quality, skilled craftsmanship and technical solutions of an exceptional standard.

You will become part of a strong team of supervisors with each their own area of expertise, where collaboration, sparring and professional pride are a natural part of everyday life. Within the Pipe and Machinery Department you will also be part of a strong group of supervisors with the same professional background, who work closely together and continuously spar about both technical solutions, planning and daily operations. You will therefore never be left alone with the tasks.

A day-to-day where engineering and leadership go hand in hand

As a supervisor you will be responsible for ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently, safely and in the quality Karstensens Shipyard is known for.

You must be able to maintain an overview when many activities take place simultaneously, and you are motivated by getting people, resources and technical solutions to work together. The vast majority of your day-to-day work takes place out in production, where you are close to the employees, follow the projects closely and have daily dialogue with both customers, colleagues and partners. Your visibility and professional competence contribute to ensuring progress and creating the best solutions.

You will become the natural driving force in the department and an important sparring partner when solutions to technical challenges need to be found.

Your responsibilities

• Planning, coordination and follow-up on the department\'s projects
• Leadership and professional sparring with employees in daily work
• Develop and coordinate technical solutions in collaboration with customers, subcontractors and project managers
• Participate in construction meetings and ongoing project follow-up
• Planning of staffing and upcoming tasks
• Focus on safety, quality and compliance with applicable procedures
• Contribute to the development and optimization of workflows and processes

Who are you?

We are looking for a person with technical insight, natural overview and the desire to take responsibility. You may come from different backgrounds – for example as marine engineer, ship fitter, industrial technician or similar – the most important is that you are motivated to create results through collaboration and coordination.

You are also a visible and technically strong leader who thrives on being close to the tasks and the employees in day-to-day work.

In addition, we would like you to

• Have experience with leadership or coordination of employees
• Have a strong technical understanding and interest in mechanical systems
• Be structured and good at creating an overview in a busy daily life
