About the job
Job description
Some people see a production challenge. You see the beginning of a valuable client conversation.
Working closely with our line managers, you will help connect clients with the right Production Engineering expertise, whether that means a specialist consultant, a dedicated team or a complete engineering project.
We are looking for a Business Development Manager who can open new doors, develop established relationships and reconnect with former clients at the right moment. Creating opportunities, building momentum and converting promising conversations into real business is what drives you.
The Opportunity
You will take a leading role in growing a market with significant potential across different clients and sales cycles. Some opportunities require pace and the ability to match a client with the right consultant. Others call for deeper discovery and the development of a complete project solution.
You understand that success starts with curiosity. By getting close to the client’s production environment and asking the right questions, you uncover the real challenge and identify the engagement that will create the greatest value.
Your success will be reflected in the business you win, the results delivered for clients and the relationships that continue to grow.
How You Will Drive Growth
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline across new, existing and former clients.
- Start meaningful conversations with decision makers in manufacturing organisations and develop trusted commercial relationships.
- Own the sales process from initial contact through proposal, negotiation and close.
- Understand clients’ production environments and work with line managers and technical specialists to shape compelling solutions.
- Support a smooth transition into delivery, maintain strong client dialogue and identify further opportunities.
- Contribute market insight to the development of the department and maintain accurate forecasts and sales data.
Your Commercial Edge
You combine commercial drive with technical curiosity and know how to turn access, insight and trusted relationships into business. Confident engaging with senior decision makers, you can uncover their needs, shape relevant solutions and move opportunities from the first conversation to a successful agreement.
- At least three years of B2B sales or business development experience within engineering services, manufacturing solutions or technical consultancy, supported by strong commercial results.
- An established network within Danish manufacturing, production or engineering that you can draw on to open doors and create early momentum.
- Proven success in winning new business, developing existing accounts and building lasting client partnerships.
- Experience managing both fast moving consultant sales and complex project opportunities with longer sales cycles.
- A solid understanding of production, manufacturing or engineering environments.
- Strong commercial judgement and a structured approach to qualifying opportunities and managing your pipeline through to close.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, engineering or a related field.
- Professional fluency in English. Danish would be an advantage.
Why This Role Is Different
As a member of the Production Engineering leadership team, you will have significant influence on the unit’s sales strategy and play a key role in shaping its commercial direction.
Working closely with the Business Unit Director, you will help determine which markets and clients we prioritise, how we best position our capabilities and where we invest to drive future growth.
You will join a Production Engineering team of 85 colleagues, with direct access to experienced engineers who bring depth and credibility to client conversations. Our informal culture, short decision paths and hybrid working model give you the freedom to act on opportunities and see the direct impact of your work.
Your contribution to winning new business, growing client relationships and developing the unit will be both visible and recognised across our global organisation.
