About the job

With us you are never alone with the leadership responsibility!

Are you focused on creating results through other people, and do you believe that the best solutions arise in collaboration?

Then it might be you we are looking for as the new department head at Rønnevang 5, which is part of the 24/7 residential care facility De 2 Gårde.

We are a leadership team of 9 leaders, who have organized ourselves around shared leadership. This means that we take joint responsibility for De 2 Gårde, help each other across and actively use each other as sparring partners. We believe that openness, trust and honest feedback make us better leaders and provide better solutions for both residents and staff.

As a department head with us you therefore not only get responsibility for your own department. You become part of a strong leadership community, where we lift together, share experiences and stand together on difficult decisions, and it should also be enjoyable to be a leader.

We know that leadership can be complex. Therefore we work purposefully so that no leader at De 2 Gårde experiences standing alone and feeling lonely in leadership.

About De 2 Gårde

De 2 Gårde is a specialized social offering for adults with developmental disabilities, psychiatric diagnoses, substance abuse and complex social problems. De 2 Gårde is a specialized offer where adults with cognitive challenges, substance abuse and possible psychiatric overlays live. Several are convicted. De 2 Gårde consists of 6 departments with a total of 73 housing units and an activity and socializing offering. The center is spread across 3 properties in the Børkop/Brejning area.

We are organized on three properties

Fuglekær: (3 department heads)

Here lives a portion of our court-admitted residents with type 2+3 sentences, and here collaboration with, among others, police, prosecution service, psychiatry and external municipalities is a natural part of everyday life.

At Fuglekær we also have part of our employment, which we call the Outdoor Team, the other part we call the Oasis, which is located on Rønnevang - see us on Facebook.

Hørgyden: (1 department head)

Offerings to residents with extensive support needs and a focus on development, well-being and independence.

Rønnevang: (3 department heads)

A property with three departments. Here is also the administration placed, where the deputy and center manager have their offices.

As a leader at Rønnevang you will be part of a close leadership community with two other department heads as well as the administration right around you. That provides good opportunities for quick sparring, joint solutions and daily leader support.

The core task at the 2 Gårde is: ”to promote an independent and meaningful life for the individual resident, where the resident makes their own choices, can manage as much as possible themselves and participate in valuable communities.”

About Rønnevang 5

Rønnevang 5 consists of 12 housing units for adults with developmental disabilities and psychiatric diagnoses; here many residents also receive personal care.

There are currently no court-admitted residents in the department.

There are 23 permanent staff + substitutes. The staff describe the department as a good place with strong relationships, high professional standards and good collaboration. LA2 is a natural part of the professional approach, and the staff are committed to creating predictability, security and development for the residents.

The department is organized into three living groups with common living rooms, which support both community and individual needs.

What will you meet as a leader?

You take over a department with a healthy culture and a staff group that describes themselves as good at:

  • welcoming new colleagues
  • helping and mentoring each other
  • taking on tasks together
  • putting residents first
  • contributing constructively to development

You meet a resident group that desires as much independence as possible and actively wants influence over their own lives. The residents’ voices, wishes and perspectives are central, and they expect to be involved in decisions that concern them.

At the same time, the department faces several exciting development tasks.

We work, among other things, with

  • implementation of food service
  • simplification and qualification of documentation in Nexus
  • further development of LA2 in practice
  • strengthening the pedagogical and health professional actions
  • development of collaboration across departments at Rønnevang

What do staff expect from their new leader?

Staff wish for a leader who

  • is visible and approachable in daily life
  • is clear about direction and expectations
  • cares about both staff and residents’ well-being
  • can create coherence between operations, professionalism and development
  • dares to make decisions when necessary
  • is good at listening, creating alignment and giving influence
  • can support reflection, learning and professional discussions
  • addresses challenges before they grow

They want a leader who trusts the staff’s competencies but is also close enough to support, challenge and set a direction.

Therefore we are looking for you who

  • has a relevant pedagogical or social-educational background
  • is passionate about leadership in collaboration and preferably has leadership experience and can act from your leadership position
  • can be clear and boundary-setting
  • can delegate and show trust in the staff’s task execution
  • can balance operations and development and navigate changes with a professional ethical compass
  • can keep focus on professional documentation
  • wants to take shared responsibility to build a strong and loyal leadership team
  • has good communication skills and is good at documenting

Every 9 weeks you join a shared management task, where you are responsible for the crisis line, from home ensuring staff receive the necessary sparring.

We offer you

  • a meaningful position where you have the opportunity to make a real difference for a special target group
  • an organization in motion, where leadership and professionalism are developing
  • a workplace where we prioritise community, openness and a good work environment – also in challenging periods
  • ongoing professional upskilling with focus on residents’ and staff’s well-being
  • an environment where the professional foundation is LA2, KRAP, health pedagogy, neuro-pedagogy and conflict management.

De 2 Gårde are also sport-certified. There is a work planner attached to the department.
