About the job

Gentofte Municipality seeks 2 building case handlers with experience in legalization and mold cases We have the opportunity to add more resources to our work in Planning and Building and therefore seek two dedicated and competent building case handlers, who primarily will work with legalization and mold cases.

We offer We offer 2 exciting and professionally challenging positions in areas of great importance for both citizens and the municipality.

You will become part of a strong professional and collegial community, where we help each other and actively use each other’s different competencies. We have an open and informal tone and attach importance to there being room for professional sparring, questions and different perspectives.

It is important for us that you do not bear the difficult assessments alone – especially in the complex legalization and mold cases.

Tasks As a building case handler you will contribute to ensuring high quality and progress in the handling of legalization and mold cases.

legalization and mold cases are often complex and can affect legal, building technical and human factors. This requires that you can work independently, that you are thorough, have professional overview and can maintain a good dialogue with the involved parties.

Depending on your experience, your tasks will mainly be

  • processing legalization cases under building and planning legislation,
  • processing cases about mold and housing conditions under the urban renewal act and the building act,
  • inspections and supervision,
  • legal and building-technical assessments,
  • preparation of notices, decisions and orders,
  • dialogue with citizens, property owners, advisors and other stakeholders,
  • participation in the ongoing development of templates, workflows and shared practices.

You do not necessarily have to work exclusively with legalization or mold cases. The type of cases and the composition of tasks will take their starting point in your experience and the team’s needs.

Independent responsibility You will have responsibility for your own cases. This requires that you can work independently, that you are thorough, have professional overview and can maintain a good dialogue with the involved parties.

In addition we emphasize a strong regulatory role – even when interests differ, and messages may be difficult.

Your experience is more important than a specific educational background You have experience with legalization and mold cases and a relevant education, for example as construction technician, architect, engineer or lawyer.

We especially emphasize that you;

  • can independently examine complex conditions and translate them into clear professional assessments,
  • have knowledge of the legislation and the authority task within your area,
  • work independently and structurally and follow your cases through to the end,
  • communicate clearly and respectfully with citizens, landlords and advisors,

If you have experience with only one type of case, we would also like to hear from you.

You In addition to professional qualifications, we value that you contribute constructively to the work community. You should be able to work independently, make professional assessments and make decisions, but you should also be willing to share your knowledge.

We also expect that you

  • communicate calmly and respectfully – also in cases where there may be disagreement or conflict with citizens/advisors,
  • work structurally and maintain overview in complex processes,
  • are professionally curious and want to develop shared practice,
  • contribute to a daily life where high professional standards, collaboration and a good collegial tone go hand in hand.

Come and meet us If you are curious about the tasks and our workplace, we invite you to a cup of coffee or tea. Here we can talk about your experience, the content of the tasks and the professional community you can become a part of.

Contact professional head of the building authority Peter Werner.
