A position as graveyard assistant at Slangerup Cemetery, Slangerup parish, is available from 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible. The position is 37 hours per week – a full-year appointment.

Slangerup parish has 7,602 inhabitants. The parish is characterized by many families with children and a lively and active parish life. Slangerup parish belongs to Frederikssund provsti in the Diocese of Helsingør. There are 12 staff in the parish. See more at www.slangerupkirke.dk

We are looking for you, who together with the graver can keep our cemetery beautiful and welcoming.

• You have experience working at a cemetery, including hedge trimming, grave covering, cleaning and maintenance, decoration of grave sites, and snow clearing
• You have experience operating and maintaining smaller gardening machines
• You can work independently, have a sense of order, are flexible and reliable
• You have basic IT skills and preferably knowledge of the cemetery system Brandsoft
• You can meet our cemetery users with empathy and understanding of their life situation
• You are willing to cover the graver during their holidays and days off.

You will join a team with the rest of the church staff. The cemetery is staffed with the graver and two assistants. There is no church service. Saturday work may occur. We offer good working conditions and a good working environment with opportunities for relevant courses.

Slangerup Cemetery plans to become a green cemetery, therefore we work to be environmentally conscious and to promote biodiversity. The cemetery has a good and well-functioning fleet of machinery, with emphasis on the right equipment for carrying out the tasks.

Employment is with the Slangerup Parish Council, Strandstræde 4, 3550 Slangerup. Employment and pay are in accordance with the Agreement for Graveyard Assistants signed between the Ministry of Ecclesiastical Affairs and the Fagligt Fælles Forbund (3F). The agreements can be viewed at Circular on the collective agreement between the Ministry of By-, Rural and Church Affairs and 3F for graveyard assistants at village churches .
