About the job

Would you like to have responsibility for your own park district and at the same time help develop about 1,000 hectares of municipal forests?

The green areas are a major asset for residents and visitors. As our new operations planner you will be responsible for the operation and development of parks and green areas in your own district. At the same time you will become part of the work with the municipality's forests across the entire municipality.

A everyday life with responsibility for your own area You will become one of four district leaders in the Park Team. Together with your colleagues you help define the operation of the municipality's green spaces and ensure that it functions in practice.

The daily operation is carried out by the municipality's contractor. You help determine needs and priorities and collaborate with the contractor on the solutions.

You will get your own budget for renovation tasks and development tasks in the district. This could be a new playground, renovation of a lunch shelter, new trail routes or new planting. You follow the projects from idea and planning to ordering, execution and completion.

You will also become part of the work with the municipality's approximately 1,000 hectares of forest. Here you will, among other things, work with user agreements, growth of vegetation, nature care, establishment of new forest areas and case processing in the municipality's role as landowner.

You will receive a thorough introduction to your area, our systems and workflows. Once you have mastered the tasks, you will have independent responsibility and a lot of freedom to plan your workday.

What you will be responsible for District responsibility. You represent Esbjerg Municipality as landowner in your district and help decide how the areas should be used, operated and developed.

Dialogue. You will have ongoing contact with residents, users, contractors, organizations and colleagues from other disciplines. An important part of the job is to find solutions where operation, nature, recreational interests and economy fit together.

Projects and economy. You plan and implement smaller renovation tasks and development projects and monitor finances, schedules, agreements and documentation.

Forest. You use your professional knowledge about forests, nature and outdoor life and work within the rules that apply to the municipal forest areas.

Who are we looking for? Your exact educational title is not decisive. You may, for example, be an agricultural economist, urban landscape engineer, horticulture and park engineer, forestry and landscape engineer, agricultural technologist, or have another relevant professional background. The most important thing is that you have good knowledge of parks, forests and outdoor life and a desire to use your professional skills in a municipal organization.

You must be able to see opportunities in the areas and thrive with the administrative work that comes with the responsibility.

You work in a structured way and can keep track of agreements, finances, deadlines and documentation. You write clearly and follow your tasks through to the end.

You must be good at dialogue. You meet people with different interests and expectations and must be able to listen, explain and make professional decisions.

We use GIS and other digital systems for planning and administration, among other things. You do not need to know our systems beforehand, but you must have good IT understanding and a desire to learn them.
