A key person is retiring after 40 years at NORDEX FOOD A/S. This leaves both an important transfer of knowledge and a concrete task: the central finance deliverables must continue to operate from day one, while processes, data and financial management are to be developed further.

About the role

As Group Finance Manager you report directly to the CFO Jesper Nielsen and will become one of his close sparring partners. You will have a broad portfolio of tasks including, among others, consolidation, budgeting, accounting and financial management.

In addition, you will have personnel responsibility for one Group Controller and the overall responsibility for the Accounting team, which consists of an Accounting Manager and seven employees. You will be close to the CFO and the other management in an organization with short decision paths, where there is an opportunity to translate analyses and proposals into action.

You will enter a finance function where several models and processes today are Excel-based and person-dependent. An important part of the task will therefore be to retain what works, while developing financial management further and making central processes less person-dependent.

Your responsibilities

You will be responsible for central finance processes across NORDEX FOOD and will be involved broadly in the tasks that are close to the CFO.

It includes among other things

• Budget preparation, consolidation, forecasts and financial statements for the group and its subsidiaries
• Monthly reporting, financial analyses, variance management and material for management and the board
• Business cases as well as tasks within financing, liquidity, gearing and contact with banks
• Governance and compliance, including tax, transfer pricing, corporate law, insurances and relevant registrations
• Further development of reporting, closing, budgeting models and financial management
• Working with data and analyses across D365, Power BI and Excel with an understanding of the underlying data structures

You will become part of the Group Finance leadership team and the company's Senior Management Team and are expected to contribute across the organization, not only within your own finance area.

It is essential that you can do the finance craft yourself. The role is hands-on, and although you have managerial responsibility, you must be able to dive into the numbers, work with the models and drive central deliverables in the finance function.

Your profile

Your current title is less important than what you have actually worked with. You may for example be a Finance Manager, Group Finance Manager, Senior Group Controller, Head of Finance or hold a role at a similar level.

The most important is that you

• have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including a background in auditing and subsequent experience from a group-structured company, preferably a manufacturing company
• have a solid breadth of experience in consolidation, budgeting, accounting and financial analysis
• have strong systems and data understanding and work confidently in Excel
• can drive your own deliverables, maintain pace and take responsibility for deadlines without close daily supervision
• have the integrity and confidentiality that comes with a role close to the CFO and management and with access to sensitive information and materials for management and the board

A role with room to move something

You won't enter a fully documented finance setup where all processes are already optimized and system-supported. Many years of knowledge reside with a few individuals, and several central models are built in Excel. Something thus needs to be understood and documented so key knowledge does not remain person-dependent.

There is planned ongoing knowledge transfer, where you together with the current key person will have the opportunity to understand how the models, processes and the central interrelationships fit together.

At the same time, budgets, reporting and other deadlines must of course continue to function.

You will be close to the CFO and the other management and will be involved early when analyses, prioritization and decision basis are to be built.

The workplace is the headquarters in Dronninglund. NORDEX FOOD offers the possibility of one home-working day per week, but the role is closely connected to the CFO and the rest of the organization, so you should be keen to be a visible part of the house.
