About the job

The position is a full-time position with day shifts Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 15:30.

As an unskilled staff member in the Gynecological/Obstetric Department K3 you will be an important part of the department's daily operations. You will handle a range of administrative and practical tasks that support the nursing staff and contribute to a well-functioning patient care pathway. We imagine that you could have a background such as health aide, social worker, or in office and administration, but it is not a requirement. You can also be unskilled and have relevant experience from previous work.

The most important thing is that you can see yourself thriving with the position’s administrative and practical tasks, are eager to learn, and contribute to the smooth running of the department.

You will receive a thorough introduction and training in your tasks.

We offer

A varied daily life with many different administrative and practical tasks, including

  • Routine administrative tasks
  • A central "jack-of-all-trades" function, where you support the department's daily operations with ad hoc tasks
  • Coordination of the day’s practical tasks in collaboration with the day’s coordinator
  • Scanning of documents into the electronic patient journal system Cosmic
  • Preparation of IT user access, SALTO key and introductory material for new colleagues
  • Ordering, receiving and replenishing goods and depot items
  • Updating the department’s telephone lists
  • Administration of the department’s coffee fund and deposit money
  • Handling of practical tasks in the department, including emptying and preparing patient rooms, replenishment and collection of beds as needed
  • Serving breakfast and lunch to patients
  • Participation in the monthly kitchen meetings at Queen Ingrid’s Hospital on behalf of K3

We are looking for someone who

  • Have drive and are quick to learn
  • Work independently and take responsibility
  • Are reliable and structured
  • Are service-minded, approachable and thrive with many different tasks
  • Have good collaboration skills and contribute positively to the togetherness
  • Have good IT skills and are familiar with common office programs
  • Can maintain an overview in a busy daily life and thrive with coordinating many tasks

About us

Gynecological/Obstetric Department K3 is a surgical inpatient department that receives both gynecological and obstetric patients from across Greenland. We receive both planned and acute patients, and there is a high patient flow as most admissions last less than a week.

The department has 10 maternity and obstetrics beds as well as space for two "gro babies". In addition, we have eight beds for gynecological patients and breast surgery patients. We handle both routine gynecological patient pathways and palliative pathways, where care and security for patients and relatives are an important part of our work.

We are closely linked to the Delivery Department and collaborate daily with midwives, public health nurses and other professional groups. In addition, we collaborate with health centers and regional hospitals across Greenland and are part of Greenland’s Special Department for Children and Births.

Competence development is a natural part of daily life. We highly prioritize professional development and hold ongoing training and competence development days. The department also has a staff member responsible for education and development who supports the department’s development work.

We are a group of engaged colleagues with a good sense of togetherness, where we help each other and prioritize a good introduction for new employees. You will become part of the Surgical Area, which consists of the Orthopedic Surgery Department (K1), Parenchymal Surgery Department (K2), Gynecological/Obstetric Department (K3), the Delivery Ward and the Surgical Outpatient Clinic.
