A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I am a 57-year-old man, tetraplegic (paralyzed from the neck down, but independent with a ventilator), after an accident. I have a little mobility in my right shoulder, so I am able to drive my wheelchair myself.

I live in my own house in Tranbjerg J, just south of Aarhus, and there are good connections by bus and train.

Experience is not a prerequisite for the job. Four hours of training are provided, always from 8:00-12:00, as personal care is given in this time window.

A non-smoker is sought for many reasons. The primary reason is that passive smoking is extremely harmful to my health.

JOB DESCRIPTION

You have drive and are willing to learn new things.

You are good at structuring your work and it is a prerequisite that you have good energy, as these are long shifts (with the option to sleep at night).

I need help with almost everything. Personal care, eating, toilet visits etc., incidental tasks in and around the house, and cooking. Additionally outings in my own car, maintaining exercise, physiotherapist, family visits and the like.

Therefore it is important that you are prepared to listen to the instructions I give you in many big and small occasions during a shift.

You have influence on how your shifts are scheduled. The work occurs on all days of the week and thus includes weekends and holidays. These are long shifts.

You become as a disability helper part of a good, flexible and essential team of disability helpers who together cover all shifts year-round. The job takes place in the citizen's own home, for leisure activities, social events and the excursions the citizen would like to participate in.
