About the job
Do you have the ambition, leadership courage and the impact to set the direction for both patient experiences, professional quality and staff well-being? Then you may be our new chief nurse in the Orthopedic Surgery Department at North Zealand Hospital.
We are seeking a chief nurse who can continue the secure operation in our well-functioning bed ward and at the same time actively contribute to the department's further development. You will become a central leader in a time when the health care system is undergoing change, and where the implementation of the new health reform, strengthening of professional quality and a systematic approach to evidence-based practice will become central areas of focus.
You are involved in setting the direction and translating North Zealand Hospital's strategies into concrete action in daily life, always with care and prudence as the foundation in the meeting with patients, relatives and staff. You lead from the front, set the direction, correct when necessary, and at the same time create support and engagement around the shared goals.
About the position
You will have the management responsibility for Bed Ward 0661 with about 40 care staff.
The bed ward receives both acute trauma patients and patients in planned pathways from the department's orthopedic subspecialties, including arthroplasty surgery. We have a high patient flow, and our patients span a wide range of ages, complexities and care needs.
The ward is characterized by high professionalism, stability and a good tone. You will become part of a strong professional environment where the ward's experienced clinical nursing specialist will support your introduction to the specialty if orthopedics is new to you. Together you will play an important role in implementing the hospital's nursing strategy and in developing nursing practice.
We work from Fundamentals of Care, where the relationship with the patient is the focal point of our care. Professionalism, presence and humanity go hand in hand, and we believe that a positive mindset creates better patient journeys, stronger teams and increased joy in work.
Your appointment coincides with the appointment of a new senior nursing scientist. Together you will have with the department's other key personnel a unique opportunity to strengthen the link between research, evidence and clinical practice.
About us
The Orthopedic Surgery Department is a large department with about 220 staff across several professional groups, two bed wards and a large outpatient clinic. Everyday life is characterized by both acute traumatology and elective patient pathways, making the department an academically interesting and dynamic place to work.
As chief nurse you will be part of the department's interdisciplinary leadership team together with, among others, two deputy chief nurses. The leadership team works closely on quality, operations, patient safety, staff development and cross-cutting improvement work.
We look forward to moving into New Hospital North Zealand, where modern facilities and new workflows provide unique opportunities to develop future patient care. In addition, you will become part of a joint leadership development program in 2027.
