Head of a newly established unit at Dansk Erhverv with a focus on new markets and international development cooperation

Dansk Erhverv seeks a professionally strong and relationship-building head for a newly established unit, which will realise a new strategic partnership and strengthen Dansk Erhverv's international presence within development cooperation.

You will play a central role in translating an ambitious strategic initiative into concrete activities, creating strong international alliances and measurable value in the respective countries and for our member companies.

The job

Dansk Erhverv has a strategic ambition to strengthen our international presence, which happens on several fronts. A central area is to increase our engagement in development cooperation through strong partnerships between businesses, authorities and civil society. We believe that long-term development is created when local needs are supported by the business sector's innovation, investments and competences.

As head of the new unit you will, in close collaboration with the international chief, be responsible for building a number of new country offices and strengthening our development work in three countries. You will have the management responsibility for employees in Denmark and, in time, also management responsibility for employees in three countries.

You will among other things

• Establish and develop new country units, including building a strong team
• Translate Danish companies' strengths into concrete business-oriented initiatives, partnerships and market opportunities in the respective countries.
• Drive the implementation of the strategic partnership in close collaboration with Dansk Erhverv's member companies, international partners and other professional environments.
• Represent Dansk Erhverv in national and international fora, including strategic meetings, delegation trips and relevant events.
• Contribute to developing Dansk Erhverv's overall international effort and strengthen the visibility of the organization's international work.
• Ensure close and trustful relations to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the foreign service and other public actors.
• Ensure high quality in project management, reporting, financial follow-up and documentation of results, including compliance with OECD-DAC requirements and delivery of high-quality reports.
• Ensure internal learning, evaluation and documentation (MEAL) across development projects.

The position is fixed-term for five years.

You will report to the international chief Kristian Dambo-Korch.

With you as background

We imagine you have a relevant education and a minimum of 10 years' experience from, for example, an interest organization, NGO, an international organization or the public sector.

You have worked with development cooperation and complex international initiatives and thrive at the intersection of political ambitions, strong partnerships and concrete results. You also have experience leading employees, preferably with staff working in other countries.

You can think commercially and have a sense of how strategic partnerships, public business instruments and foundation funds can be translated into new growth and business opportunities. At the same time you understand that success requires good relations, political acumen and the ability to bring different actors together toward a common direction.

In addition we value that you

• Have experience with development cooperation, including concrete initiatives and activities and can navigate safely at the intersection of politics, business and international relations.
• Have strong business understanding and can identify, develop and realise new business opportunities.
• Have in-depth knowledge of business promotion instruments and the interaction between foreign service, export promotion efforts and relevant public actors.
• Are fluent in Danish and English both in writing and speaking.
• Are willing to and able to travel internationally.
• Are cheerful, positive and service-minded and like to contribute to strengthening the good team spirit in the department.
