About the job

Do you want to lead a continuing education area with great significance for businesses, employees and economic development? And do you thrive in a leadership role where you must ensure smooth daily operations and help develop the future of continuing education offerings? Then the position as Head of Continuing Education at Learnmark Horsens may be right for you.

Leadership, planning and development of the continuing education area.

As Head of Learnmark Continuing Education you will have overall responsibility for management, finances, planning, operations and development of the area's education and course offerings. You must ensure efficient use of resources, high quality and staffing that matches the activities – both at the school and at the companies.

The area currently includes about 36 employees distributed across three main areas

  • Transport and Logistics (external and internal)
  • Construction and Civil Engineering
  • HAKL (Trade, Administration, Communication and Leadership).

You will personally oversee the direct leadership of the main areas Transport and HAKL, while Construction and Civil Engineering has its own education manager who reports to you.

When Learnmark Horsens and Horsens HF & VUC merge during the coming year, your leadership area will be expanded with General Adult Education (AVU), which includes 6 employees.

You will play an important role in further developing the continuing education area in close collaboration with the school9s other leaders, teachers and external partners.

As a representative of Learnmark Horsens you will participate in relevant professional and strategic collaborations, including contact with AMU-Denmark, knowledge centres, industry associations as well as public and private companies.

You will also be responsible for planning and conducting vocational teacher courses, conferences, study tours and meetings in local and national education boards.

In short, you must be able to keep the daily business running and have a vision for how it can be further developed.

Seasoned leader with a view to both business and people

We envision that you have a relevant higher education degree, solid experience in leading professional staff - preferably also with management of managers, possibly from another educational institution.

You have experience with finances, budgets, strategy, planning and resource management and understand the importance of creating coherence between professional quality, efficient operations and development. If you have an eye for marketing, that's a plus. You are not the one performing tasks yourself, but you collaborate with the school's communications team.

It would be beneficial if you have experience from the education sector - and if you have key knowledge of the AMU system it is a clear plus. We also welcome that you have experience with collaboration between educational institutions, businesses and labor market actors.

As a leader you are trust-building, inclusive and clear. You manage to build good relationships, while being action-oriented and able to make decisions and follow them through.

You work in a structured way and have a good overview, even when many tasks must be solved at the same time. You can think long-term, but are also flexible and adaptable when daily life requires quick decisions.

Finally, you enjoy being close to daily operations and combining administrative and managerial tasks with direct coaching to staff and managers.

A key position with influence and development opportunities

You are offered an independent and central leadership position in an area with significant development potential and a growing interest in collaboration from both existing and new partners.

You will have the opportunity to shape the development of continuing education and become part of an organization where professionalism, collaboration and the ambition to create value for companies and learners are at the center.

Learnmark Continuing Education has activities at two addresses in Horsens.

You will be employed on collective agreement terms in accordance with the circular on the agreement for the employment of managers at institutions within teaching and education under the Ministry of Children and Education. The position is covered by new pay.

Initial interviews are planned to be held on Tuesday, 16 November 2026.

The consulting firm Elgaard Mancom will assist with the recruitment.
