Do you want to make a difference for Copenhageners and lead a professionally strong department in Denmark's largest municipality?

As Head of Department for Near Health you will play a central role in developing the close-to-the-user health services and have the opportunity to work closely with the political decisions shaping the health sector in Copenhagen. With the health reform, more tasks are moved closer to citizens, and the collaboration between the municipality, region, hospitals, and general practice becomes even more important.

Your leadership task

As Head of Department you will lead 16 professionally strong employees, but your leadership responsibilities extend beyond your own department. You must create direction and buy-in in the management of your staff, actively contribute to the management of the center and upwards in the organization, and create forward momentum together with fellow managers, operations units, and partners in the broader health sector.

An important part of the leadership task lies in the political and strategic agendas in the health area. You will be responsible for the department's contribution to, among other things, the health reform and the Health Council Capital Region, and you must be present where new solutions, collaborations and interfaces in the health area are formed. You represent the center in relevant collaborations and must be able to connect what happens outside the center with the department's and the administration's work.

You must also be able to qualify decisions upwards in the organization by translating complex professional knowledge into clear problem statements, recommendations and decision basis.

The employees have high professional competence and great independence in task solving. Your task is to ensure coherence between tasks, resources and priorities and to allow space for employees' professional judgement and responsibility.

The department's work ranges from tasks that require rapid and qualified deliveries to long-term development of professional solutions. You must be able to navigate between both parts and maintain the link between high health professionalism, political priorities, and solutions that work in practice.

About you

You have relevant leadership experience and experience from a leadership role where you set direction and create the framework for employees' professionalism and independence to come into play in the best possible way.

A strong leadership community

As Head of Department you will become part of the center's leadership team. Together with the other department heads and the Chief of Health, you will share responsibility for the center's overall mission and for developing collaboration and a common direction across the center.

The Center for Health has strategic, developmental and operational tasks and sets the professional frameworks for cohesive health initiatives of high quality. We support professional development in the health field, including nursing and rehabilitation, operate a range of district-wide health services and develop solutions in close collaboration with other municipalities, general practice and hospitals in our Health Council.

Employment terms

Salary and employment terms according to the applicable collective agreement and negotiated based on qualifications. Start date 1 January 2027. References will be obtained when offering employment.
