Head of Department for Children's and Youth Home

Would you like to help create safe environments and development opportunities for children and young people?

We are seeking an engaged and professionally strong department head for our children's and youth home. As department head you will play a central role in ensuring high professional quality, good wellbeing and a professional approach for the children and young people who are placed with us.

You will lead a department with dedicated staff and be responsible for both daily operations, personnel management and the professional development of the intervention.

Who are we?

Curam is a children and youth home (§ 43 sect.1, no. 6 sect. 3) approved by the Social Supervisory Authority.

Our headquarters are housed in the main house on an old manor in Skibby with room for 6 youths. In addition we have 2 other departments, one in Skibby and one in Kirke Såby, and currently have capacity for a total of 14 youths between 14-17 (23) years. Curam's target group is children and young people with multiple issues, including neglect, developmental trauma, attachment disorders, crime and substance abuse.

The position is available in our newly opened Grønnebjerg department, located at Sonnerupvej 40, 4060 Kirke Såby, with space for 5 youths.

About the position

As department head you are responsible for

• Daily management of the department's staff.
• Ensuring high professional quality in the pedagogical work.
• Planning and coordination of the efforts around the children and young people.
• Sparring, supervision and competence development of staff.
• Collaboration with municipalities, relatives, schools and other partners.
• Follow-up on action plans, documentation and legal requirements.
• Contributing to the development of the organization's professional and strategic goals.
• Contributing to a safe and development-promoting working environment.

We expect that you

• Have a relevant social-science or pedagogical education.
• Have experience with leadership or coordinating roles within the social sector.
• Have in-depth knowledge of working with at-risk children and young people.
• Can create clear direction while being approachable in the leadership role.
• Are strong in collaboration and relationship-building.
• Have good communication and administrative skills.
• Work in a structured manner and be able to maintain an overview in a changing daily life.
