Head of Department for the Dementia Competence Center – Greve Municipality

A center in development – with the person at the center

The Dementia Competence Center consists of two departments and a day care home. Each department has its own head of department, and you will be responsible for one of the departments with approximately 35 dedicated colleagues.

The staff group includes among others social and health assistants, social and health helpers, nutrition and housekeeping assistants, and the department is connected to center nurses. You will have the management of all shifts.

We work purposefully with person-centered care (PCO ) – both in the encounter with citizens and as part of our way of conducting leadership. For us, it is about seeing the person behind the dementia and creating a framework where residents, relatives and employees feel seen, heard and included.

As head of department you will play a central role in translating this approach into a strong professional practice and a culture where the good citizen pathway is the focus.

Your leadership task

You will be responsible for the daily operations and the professional development in your department. This requires you to be close to the staff while also maintaining an overview and seeing the bigger context.

Your most important tasks will include, among other things

• ensure professional quality, presence and structure in a complex everyday life
• support the staff in creating safe, dignified and meaningful processes for citizens with dementia
• create clear direction and follow up on agreements, actions and professional goals
• translate new knowledge, political goals and strategic decisions into practice
• actively contribute to a strong multidisciplinary collaboration – both internally and with relatives
• create wellbeing, engagement and development through clear, present and empathetic leadership
• have a sense of operations, duty rosters and finances
• participate in continuing to develop the professional direction of the Dementia Competence Center.

You have a desire for leadership and are motivated by creating good frameworks for both staff and citizens.

We would like you to

• have leadership experience from the care, elderly or dementia sector – preferably with a health-professional background
• be clear, presence and strong in your relationships
• thrive with responsibility and can create structure and overview in a complex everyday life
• have a flair for operations, duty rosters and financial follow-up
• have an interest in or experience with person-centered care and citizens with complex needs
• have completed or be pursuing a leadership education at diploma level.

The most important thing, however, is that you can see yourself in our view of people and want to be an active part of both daily operations and the ongoing development of our dementia effort.
