Head of HR (HR Chief) sought for Bigadan

Bigadan is built by people who know their trade and want to drive the green transition. The welder and the technician at the plant, the engineer, the controller and the project manager at the office. Today we are about 200 colleagues, distributed across nine biogas plants in Denmark, the head office in Skanderborg, one office in Copenhagen, a team in Germany and a team in the Netherlands.

Bigadan is a business in development. We have grown rapidly in recent years, and HR must grow with the company. Therefore, we have created a new position as Head of HR, who will help lift HR and make a difference on the green agenda.

You will be responsible for setting the direction for HR across Bigadan. Your first task is to create a solid HR foundation with clear processes and uniform practice that supports leaders and employees.

Subsequently follow many other HR disciplines such as education and collaboration, and you will take responsibility for internal communication. It requires experience, gravitas, and HR professionalism that can be tailored to a technical company with both production and clerical employees.

You report to the CEO Henrik Vestergaard Laursen and will have close cooperation with the entire management team and across the company.

The task

Create a foundation. You will further develop a professional basic structure that makes leadership and HR decisions better. This includes contracts, employment law, onboarding and offboarding, holidays/maternity/paternity, flexible arrangements, working environment, personnel policies, and more. In addition, further development of our HR system (HR-ON), which collects data in one place, and a recruitment process that matches the professionalism in Bigadan.

Education and development. We want to be a company where everyone becomes more skilled. That means building a training program based on Bigadan's own experiences as well as inspiration from outside, and ongoing analysis of where employees should be strengthened and developed.

Organization. Good collaboration, professional pride, business acumen and ambition have brought us here. Together with the management team, you will further develop the organization so that we can lift the business into the future – also when we become many more.

Responsibility for internal communication. Our strength is that many professional groups work together all the way from waste handling via CO2- and biogas production to marketing and sales. You must create a fixed rhythm for how we share decisions and results with all 200 colleagues, and get more people to take responsibility for the good story.

We imagine that you

• have strong HR professionalism and at least 5 years’ experience from a larger company
• have previously led an HR function
• have at least a bachelor's degree
• preferably have management experience and knowledge of production companies

As a person you are independent and have gravitas. You are willing to engage in discussions in the management group. At the same time you are empathetic and good at developing and motivating others.

About Bigadan

We develop, build, operate and own biogas plants and work across the entire value chain from sourcing of organic residual products to energy production, biogenic CO₂ and biogas fertilizer. We operate 10 biogas plants as well as a number of gas stations.

Every day we convert livestock manure, food waste and other organic residual products into products with value for the energy, agricultural and industrial sectors. It contributes to supply security, ensures better use of resources and recycles nutrients back to the soil.
