HR Chief for the Copenhagen West Suburbs Police (AC)

Would you be our new HR Chief and, together with the best team of employees and leaders, set a clear direction for HR and unify operations, resource management, a good working environment and development in the Copenhagen West Suburban Police?

Your tasks

As HR Chief you are responsible for driving and developing HR work in the police district. You have the managerial responsibility for a substantial operations department, and you lead both managers and employees. You serve as strategic advisor and sparring partner for the district's top management and line managers regarding personnel matters, resources as well as organizational and personnel changes and development initiatives. You are also the district's representative in relation to Corporate HR in the National Police regarding national HR initiatives.

About us

The HR department in the Copenhagen West Suburban Police has both administrative staff, academics and police-trained employees, who have the task of supporting the organization in terms of resource management, personnel administration, education, duty roster planning and development of the district's leaders and employees. The occupational health and well-being area is also organizationally anchored in the HR department. Both areas are highly prioritized in the district.

The tasks are extensive and complex, and that requires both tight management, a solid data basis and an accommodating leadership style. In collaboration with the other units in the staff and with close involvement of employee representatives and managers, the HR department plays a central role in supporting the operational task execution in the police pillar and in the prosecution service.

About you

Our new HR Chief stands on a foundation of good leadership, reflective ability and strong relationship skills. In addition, you are a skilled communicator and can convey a message clearly both orally and in writing.

It is expected that you have a relevant professional background and strong leadership competencies. It would be an advantage if you have experience as HR Chief or HR Partner from a larger organization, and that you have experience from a politically governed organization. You are self-assured, and you put the community first. You are able to create psychologically safe collaborative spaces, and you see diversity as a strength.

You preferably have several years of experience with leading operations and resource management. You have a visionary approach to the HR area and a focus on translating strategy into action and results. You have impact, are robust and credible. You navigate smoothly to ensure both stable operations and the organization’s ambitious goals and development as well as employees’ motivation and well-being.

Salary and employment terms

If you have an academic background, you will be employed under collective agreement terms in accordance with the agreements between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professionals.

If you are already employed as a civil servant in the police, you can retain your employment status. Your work location will be Police Headquarters in Albertslund, a half-hour journey from Rådhuspladsen. We are close to public transport and green cycling routes. We also offer good and free parking options.

It is a prerequisite for employment that you can obtain security clearance, and you must be able to maintain the security clearance throughout your employment. Tests may be used in connection with the application process, and references will be obtained.
