About the job

Do you want to contribute to securing international labor supply in Denmark?

Are you a leader who can balance professional operational management with hands-on personnel leadership in an area with great political attention? As our new Office Manager for the Quota Office, you will have an absolutely key role in ensuring the Danish labor market quick and efficient access to international labor on proper terms. If you are driven by high-quality case processing and efficient operations, now is the time to seize the opportunity and apply!

Your new workplace

SIRI is a central part of the immigration area and works to support international recruitment and integration in Denmark. We solve tasks of great political and social importance and are at the same time an organization in constant development, where digitalisation, efficiency improvements and high professional quality are essential.

At SIRI we process applications for residence and work permits for foreigners from all over the world who will

work or study in Denmark. We ensure EU citizens easy and fast access to Denmark on decent terms, advise municipalities on integration and prevention, and prepare tests in Danish and knowledge about Denmark.

We are about 500 employees distributed across the country with locations in Valby, Odense, Aarhus, Aalborg, Esbjerg, Sønderborg and Nuuk.

Your role as Office Manager in the Quota

The Quota Office processes applications from third-country nationals for residence and work permits under the quota scheme and the supplementary quota scheme as well as accompanying family members. The schemes are part of SIRI’s employment schemes and provide the opportunity for residence and work based on a job offer where salary and conditions meet the set requirements.

You will have the overall responsibility for running an office where efficient case processing and high legal quality go hand in hand.

You will have line management responsibility for about 35 employees, including a deputy head and a number of team coordinators. The majority of the staff have an academic background, but there are also experienced clerical staff in the office.

Your main tasks will be to

  • Ensure stable operations and target attainment in a daily life with high case volumes and political attention
  • Quality-assure case processing and optimise processes , so that we work efficiently while ensuring high quality in the decisions
  • Join the agency’s overall management team and contribute to strategic development across SIRI, preferably with an eye for digital development.

About you

You have a relevant academic degree, e.g., cand. jur. or another social science degree. We would like you to have solid experience with operations and people management, preferably from the state or another complex public organization. It would be an advantage if you have experience with hybrid and remote leadership, as many employees work from home up to two days a week.

We expect you to succeed in the role if you recognise yourself in the following profile

  • Scientifically strong leader with a knack for people management . You are driven by the balance between sparring on complex professional issues and ensuring daily well-being, motivation and development of your staff.
  • Bridge-builder with a view to cross-functional collaboration . You naturally operate in the tension between your own office, the overall leadership group and the executive. You see the value in lifting together and actively contribute to a strong and coordinated cross-organizational collaboration.
  • Development-oriented leader in a knowledge organization . You focus on process optimization and quality assurance. You are able to translate strategic goals into concrete development tasks that ensure both efficient and correct case processing and strengthen SIRI’s position as a knowledge organization.
  • Guarantee for balance between quality and operations . You have a sharp sense for case production, deadlines and efficiency, but you do not compromise on professional quality. You understand how to navigate a high-production environment without losing sight of the legal and professional standards.
  • Analytically minded with a sense of the big picture . You lift your gaze from daily operations and see the office in a broader societal and organizational context. You translate data, trends and experiences from case processing into valuable input, analyses and direction for the organization’s forward-looking path.

You are a leader with a sense for the common good

In the Ministry of Immigration and Integration we work from a common leadership foundation that creates direction and coherence in our leadership practice across the group. We lead based on four themes: task leadership, cross-cutting leadership, learning leadership and people leadership.

Our leadership is built on clear direction and prioritization, professionalism, knowledge sharing and collaboration across, as well as a sustained ambition to develop our staff – both professionally and personally.

It is therefore important that you can see yourself in our four leadership themes. You have an eye for the whole, take responsibility for shared solutions and are mindful of how you influence collaboration, motivation and well-being – both within your own agency and in our entire group.

With us you get

An approachable leadership group that prioritizes collaboration and development. You will have the opportunity to work flexibly and be involved in and have influence on decisions at SIRI. We place great emphasis on manager well-being and a good working environment.

At SIRI we have our strategy and core tasks in view and have designed a strategic house that describes our vision and mission as well as the foundation for our way of working. You can read more about us, our strategy and our different offices here.

In addition, digitalization is an important part of our daily life. We work with new technological possibilities such as AI to strengthen an efficient and secure case handling and create value for citizens, businesses and employees.
