About the job

Would you like to help strengthen the Armed Forces' operational capabilities within Electronic Warfare?

If that sounds like something for you, you now have the opportunity to become a case handler at the Danish Defence Ministry's Agency for Materiel and Procurement.

About us

The Capacity Center Electronic Warfare is part of four capacity centers.

You will become part of a highly specialized team of 12 employees, both military and civilian, with various professional backgrounds and competencies. We work closely together on the tasks, share our knowledge and use each other's competencies across disciplines.

We are responsible for procurement, implementation, operation and development of the armed forces' land-based Electronic Warfare capabilities.

The Defence is undergoing rapid development, which is why there is a short path from idea to action, so you will therefore have good opportunities to influence both the task solution and the center's development. The everyday life is characterized by high professionalism, close collaboration and professional sparring. The working culture focuses on good relationships, camaraderie and not least humor.

The Capacity Center is located in its own office area with its own laboratory to support our tasks. In addition, a test and measurement facility has been established, so we have the ability to verify that what we do behaves as expected.

About the position

As an engineer in the Capacity Center you will

  • join our team for technical case handling of man-portable and vehicle-mounted systems, including intelligence-gathering and force protection technologies
  • plan and conduct meetings with suppliers, system houses as well as national and international partners, including carrying out market analyses and assessment of new Electronic Warfare technologies
  • make technical/professional assessments of suppliers' solutions relative to user requirements and actively participate in the procurement process for new capabilities
  • understand planning, organization and execution of the Capacity Center's activities within Electronic Warfare, including participation in our planned tests and measurements at system houses and in the field
  • understand the operation of existing capabilities, in close cooperation with our operational partners
  • be an active part of our study and development group, with participation in our test and measurement tasks
  • efter employment, receive the necessary further training in the systems you will be responsible for

The position involves around 40 days of travel per year in Denmark and abroad. Travel ranges from shorter trips of 1-3 days to occasional stays of 2-3 weeks.

About you

We expect you to be a trained engineer in e.g. wireless communication and to be motivated by working with complex systems.

You are an engineer with experience, possibly newly graduated, from one or more of the following areas:

Measurements on radio systems, antenna installations, RF metrology, understanding of RF systems and modulation schemes, construction of test equipment and integration of technical systems.

Familiarity with SAP/DeMars is an advantage.

You have a strong technical profile with the willingness and ability to immerse yourself in the fields and to strengthen the Capacity Center with your engineering expertise.

You work in a structured way, are thorough with a holistic approach to task solving and have the ability to maintain an overview.

You are able to independently handle extensive and complex cases, but will also participate in teamwork with other colleagues.

You can express yourself clearly in writing and speaking in both Danish and English. Experience with international cooperation is an advantage.

It is an advantage if you hold a category B driving license and possibly experience in the area.

Terms of employment

The employment is in accordance with the prevailing collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state (Academic Agreement).

Depending on your qualifications, there is a possibility for negotiating a supplement. There is an employer-funded pension scheme attached to the position.

The workplace is in Ballerup.

As an employee under the Ministry of Defence's area you are subject to some special terms. You must, among other things, be security cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout the employment.

You as an employee are obliged to perform service outside the country's borders, including with units in international operations with a view to participation in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peace-enforcing, humanitarian and other similar operations.
