About the job

Capacitetscenter Maritim seeks an experienced and structured leader with technical understanding, good overview, and interest in materiel, maintenance and operations.

You will play a central role in ensuring an efficient and well-functioning support for the Defence's maritime materiel. We would like you to have experience with SAP, particularly within MM (Material Management) and PM (Plant Maintenance), and to be able to contribute to developing and optimizing the use of the system's existing functions within the materiel and maintenance area.

About us

The Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (FMI), Maritime Division (KAMA) has its headquarters in Ballerup and is overall system owner for all Defence ships and vessels, maritime systems, as well as maritime materiel.

The Business Area for Maritime Platforms is organizationally placed under the Chief of the Maritime Division. We work with the entire lifecycle of materiel – from procurement and implementation of maritime materiel and smaller vessel acquisitions, to maintenance, modernization and finally disposal. In short, we take responsibility for the materiel from "cradle to grave".

The business area consists of 40 engaged employees distributed among both civilian and military staff, including nine capacity managers with separate areas of responsibility. To be close to our users (the Navy), we have colleagues at two shipping offices at Flådestation Frederikshavn and Flådestation Korsør.

You can expect a challenging everyday life in a dynamic environment with a free and informal tone, where professionalism, daily sparring and good collegiality are in focus. We offer a flexible everyday life with respect for the individual’s competencies, where you have great opportunity to plan tasks and work routines yourself

We place emphasis on a good working environment with a focus on collaboration based on each employee's competencies.

About the position

As Section Manager for the Operations and Support Section you will have a versatile managerial role with responsibility for a broad portfolio of technical and administrative tasks.

You will become the line manager for 10 dedicated employees with different professional competencies. Therefore, we are looking for a clear, present, and engaged manager who can set direction and at the same time focus on well-being, development, collaboration and good results.

A significant part of the role involves coordinating and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including users, suppliers and other partners. It is therefore important that you are good at building relationships, communicating across disciplines, and bringing different perspectives together in joint solutions.

Demands are varied and characterized by many simultaneous tasks. You must therefore be able to prioritize, maintain overview, and ensure progress – even when several tasks require attention at the same time.

You will help ensure that maritime materiel is available, maintained and supported in an efficient and economically responsible manner. This includes a focus on operational stability, maintenance planning, materiel management and continuous improvement of workflows and processes.

The position also gives you an important role in connection with upcoming new and replacement procurements of ships, vessels and other maritime materiel. You will, among other things, contribute to ensuring that new solutions are integrated appropriately into existing systems, processes and organizational frameworks.

The Defence faces significant development and expansion of its maritime capacities, and the position therefore offers the opportunity to influence both day-to-day operations and the long-term development of the area.

About you

You have a relevant higher education, preferably in a technical, logistical, or operations-related field.

Your specific educational background is not decisive. The most important thing is that you have the experience, managerial understanding and professional depth needed to lead a complex operations and support function.

We emphasize that you

  • work in a structured way and maintain an overview
  • take initiative and follow up tasks through to completion
  • thrive in a varied daily life and multiple simultaneous tasks
  • can prioritize and maintain focus on what is essential
  • have leadership experience and can create direction, engagement and development
  • have strong collaboration and relationship-building skills
  • can work across disciplines and organizational levels
  • have good judgment and can make decisions
  • communicate clearly, professionally and constructively
  • express yourself confidently in both Danish and English, verbally and in writing.

It is also advantageous if you have experience with or an interest in materiel procurement, materiel operations and maintenance.

Experience with SAP is highly valued, especially within MM and PM.

Employment terms

You will be employed in accordance with the applicable collective agreement at any given time.

Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is the possibility of negotiating supplements. There is an employer-financed pension scheme attached to the position.

The workplace is in Ballerup.

As an employee within the Ministry of Defence's area, you are subject to some special terms. You must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance throughout the employment.

You have as an employee an obligation to perform service outside the country, including at units in international operations with a view to participation in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacemaking, humanitarian and other similar operations.
