Create coherence in Region of Southern Denmark's emergency preparedness

An cyberattack, failure in critical supplies or a major health incident can in a short time affect treatment and operations across Region of Southern Denmark. It requires strong professional emergency preparedness and someone who ties the threads together and ensures a coordinated effort. Region of Southern Denmark is therefore strengthening the regional emergency unit.

We are seeking a function head who can lead the development and create momentum across the hospitals, Prehospital South, the social area and the corporate functions. The unit will be expanded to about five full-time equivalents and shall be the focal point for the region's cross-cutting emergency preparedness work.

You will take over an existing unit and must both ensure continuity and strengthen its capacity, competencies and impact.

Your most important task

Your core task is to create coherence between the region's risk picture, plans, decisions and actions. You create binding coordination across the region's emergency preparedness actors, and it is you who sets the direction, prioritizes and ensures that joint decisions are put into practice.

You lead the unit's staff and at the same time deliver results across the organization without taking over the departments' responsibility for their own emergency preparedness and operative solutions.

Your central areas of responsibility

• Lead and develop the unit's employees, competencies and resources.
• Create an overview of threats, vulnerabilities and capacity needs and translate this into recommendations and a decision basis.
• Coordinate the region's emergency plans and cross-cutting exercises and ensure that experiences are translated into improvements.
• Advise the Prehospital Director and support the strategic emergency forum.
• Gather the region's contributions to national initiatives and represent Region of Southern Denmark in relevant collaborations.

The leader we are seeking

You have a relevant advanced education or equivalent competencies and leadership experience from a complex, preferably politically led organization. It is an advantage if you have knowledge of the health service. You may have experience with e.g. emergency planning, crisis management, risk and resilience or critical infrastructure.

You are motivated by creating direction and results through others and are strong in collaboration across professional and organizational boundaries. It is a prerequisite for employment that you can and are willing to undergo security clearance, and that you can maintain the security clearance throughout your employment.

What we offer

You will have the opportunity to set a direction for a highly prioritized area and shape a strengthened emergency unit on an existing professional foundation. You will have broad collaboration with leaders and specialists across the region and become part of Prehospital South's Leadership Forum.

The regional emergency unit is anchored in Prehospital South and carries out tasks on behalf of the entire Region of Southern Denmark. You will have staff and professional leadership of the unit and report to the Prehospital Director.

The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of the base salary, centrally set allowances and pension in Administration and IT staff, etc. – collective agreement 32.01.1 . In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications. The position is desired to be filled on January 4, 2027.
