About the job

Do you want to lead a strong authority-professional unit and at the same time help shape the future in a new section where coherence, rehabilitation and joint solutions are the focus?

Our current leader, for a little over 4 years, has chosen to leave the labor market to take on other projects, and therefore we are seeking her successor. We are looking for a present and clear leader who can continue the strong professional foundation in Visitation and contribute to the development of our new section.

You take over the management of a well-functioning visitation with high professionalism, engaged employees and a central role in citizens' meeting with the municipality. At the same time you enter an organization that is evolving. As of August 1, 2026, Visitation became part of a new section, established through the fusion of the two former sections Authority and Health Across. The ambition is to create greater coherence for citizens across authority, aids, health promotion, prevention and training.

We therefore seek a leader who can both ensure strong authority operation and actively contribute to the development of the new section. A leader who stands firmly on authority professionalism, but who is also focused on collaboration, relationships and shared solutions across.

About Visitation

Visitation is a central entry to Health and Care and solves a wide range of authority tasks within the Social Services Act and the Elderly Act.

Tasks include among others

  • Citizen telephone with advice, guidance, screening and visitation.
  • Clarifying contacts with citizens, where needs and the client base are identified.
  • Direct visitation and referral to interventions under the Social Services Act and the Elderly Act.
  • Visitation to nursing homes, elderly- and disability-friendly housing as well as day care centers.
  • Discharge processes and coordination of sector transitions.
  • Visitation for replacement and respite, including temporary overnight stays.
  • Specialized authority tasks, direct subsidies, guardianship cases and similar.

Visitation consists of visitators, administrative staff and a professional coordinator.

The employee group is professionally ambitious, engaged and used to taking responsibility for both own tasks and the collective task solution. There is a learning culture with mutual respect and high trust in each other. There is great professional breadth, and the employees are characterized by high independence, strong professionalism and a good collegial community.

About the position

As the leader you will be responsible for daily operations, the professional quality, employees' well-being and the continued development of Visitation's task execution.

You will also become part of a leadership community that is in the process of creating a common foundation for the new section. We are focused on creating greater coherence between our different professional areas and on supporting citizens' opportunities to live an independent life for as long as possible.

Therefore we seek a leader who can see themselves as a leader for more than their own unit. We want a colleague who naturally contributes to the common solutions, takes co-responsibility for the entire section's development and sees the value in cross-functional collaboration.

The leadership task

Your main tasks will be to

  • secure high quality and legality in the authority work.
  • continue collaboration on quality development with, among others, the professional coordinator.
  • create direction, overview and prioritization in a complex daily life.
  • support employees' professional development and job satisfaction.
  • strengthen collaboration across your own section, the rest of Health and Care and with external partners.
  • contribute to the development of the new section and cross-cutting collaboration interfaces.
  • create a balance between safe operation and necessary development processes.
  • support a strong working community based on trust, dialogue and shared responsibility.

The Elderly Act, health reforms and new forms of collaboration mean that parts of the task are still under development. You must therefore be able to navigate changes and at the same time create calm, direction and meaning for the employees.

We are looking for a leader who

  • has leadership experience and preferably experience from a municipal authority area.
  • has solid understanding of public administration and authority work.
  • can create followers through involvement, dialogue and clarity.
  • works in an appreciative and relational leadership style.
  • is able to bring employees together around a strong common "we".
  • sees the strengths in interdisciplinary collaboration and common solutions.
  • can balance regard to citizens, employees, economy and legislation.
  • communicates clearly and respectfully.
  • is development-oriented without losing focus on operations.
  • has the courage to make decisions and the ability to stand by them.

About you as a leader

We imagine you are a leader who is focused on people and relationships.

You believe that the best solutions are created in collaboration, and you naturally involve employees and partners in developing the task solution. At the same time you are able to set a clear direction, create frameworks and follow up on agreements and decisions.

You see differences as a strength and have an eye for bringing people together around a common task and shared responsibility.

We offer

  • A leadership position of great importance for citizens' encounter with the municipality.
  • A professionally strong and engaged staff group.
  • Opportunity to influence the development of both Visitation and the new section.
  • A strong leadership community with focus on sparring, collaboration and shared leadership responsibility.
  • An organization with high ambitions for quality, coherence and development.
  • A working environment characterized by trust, dialogue and integrity.

Salary and terms of employment according to the applicable collective agreement and the local pay formation agreement.

We look forward to hearing from you.
