About the job

Would you like to help set the personnel policy direction for Regionshospitalet Gødstrup and develop HR in line with the healthcare system of the future? Do you have strategic foresight, strong leadership skills and a view for both operations and development? Then you may be the one we’re looking for.

At Regionshospitalet Gødstrup we are seeking an experienced and visionary HR director who can lead the hospital's HR function and ensure that it supports both the organization’s current needs and the changes the health service is facing. We would prefer that you have experience from the health sector.

As HR director you will be part of the staff leadership, reporting directly to the health and hospital management. You will become a central sparring partner for management on personnel policy questions and organizational development. Tasks may include development within specific professional areas as well as supporting departments and wards in their organizational and personnel responsibilities.

The HR function supports efforts for a healthy, developing and safe working environment. This is an operational and strategic area across the entire hospital. The managerial responsibility also includes practice for salary and personnel administration, where job postings, salary payments, salary negotiations and personnel legal sparring are examples of operational tasks. You must ensure stable and efficient operation with high professional quality while also having an eye for how HR’s workflows and processes can develop in line with the organization’s needs.

As the daily people leader you will be responsible for a competent and experienced staff group that is used to making decisions and desires involvement in everyday task planning. It is therefore important that you can create clear direction, support the professionals’ expertise and engagement, and ensure frameworks where responsibility and initiative go hand in hand with common goals and priorities.

We are focused on transformation, involvement and sustainable leadership and have a focus on bringing health services closer to citizens. As HR director you must have the courage not only to navigate in an organization undergoing change but also actively create it and translate strategic ambitions into concrete initiatives that create value for the organization, the employees, the patients and the relatives.

This requires a strategic and outward-looking view of developments in the health sector and the ability to identify new opportunities and challenge conventional thinking across professional disciplines and organizational boundaries. We are seeking an HR director who, together with the rest of the staff leadership, can help develop the workforce of the future.

The health reform changes the framework for the health service and sets new demands for organization, competencies and cross-agency collaboration between hospitals and municipalities. You must be able to contribute to translating development into relevant professional and organizational priorities that support quality, accessibility and coherence in the health service. At the same time you are expected to actively contribute to HR development and bring experiences and new solutions into play that can support the hospital’s needs – both now and in the future.

As a leader you are visible and create followership through dialogue, trust and clear communication. You have a holistic view and an understanding of the link between the hospital’s core mission, employees’ well-being and the organizational frameworks. You are able to involve relevant stakeholders, foster cross-organizational collaboration, and maintain direction and momentum even when tasks and conditions change.

The HR Director’s tasks will include

  • Being a strategic and operational sparring partner for the health and hospital management as well as the hospital’s other leaders in HR, employment law, recruitment and organizational development.
  • Ensuring stable, efficient and professionally sound operation of the HR function’s areas of responsibility, including salary and personnel administration.
  • Leading, motivating and developing the HR staff group with a focus on professional quality, collaboration, well-being and involvement.
  • Driving and supporting organizational transformation and developing HR processes and workflows so that the function is prepared for future needs and opportunities.
  • Supporting initiatives for a healthy, developing and safe working environment across the hospital.
  • Sharing responsibility for management, budget compliance and strategic development in the Staben (Staff).
  • Participating in the region’s professional network for HR directors, where you collectively inspire across, set strategy, develop professionally, etc.
  • Allocating and coordinating managerial and administrative tasks in collaboration with the other staff leaders.

We are looking for an HR director with

  • Documented experience in HR and solid leadership experience from a large organization.
  • Strong legal competencies, obtained through education and/or experience.
  • Insight into and understanding of the healthcare sector’s practices and organizational frameworks, including the interaction between actors across the health service.
  • Strategic foresight and the ability to orient yourself toward developments in the external world and translate new requirements and opportunities into relevant organizational solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize, set direction, and lead through other leaders as well as coordinate and delegate tasks.
  • Strong competencies in organizational development, collaboration and change management.
  • Ability to motivate, lead and develop employees and achieve results through them.
  • Acknowledging and professional communication style and a credible and respectful approach to collaboration.
  • Judgment and situational awareness as well as the ability to operate in different organizational and professional contexts.
