Institute for Society and Policy seeks a number of permanent teaching lecturers for the social work degree program

Would you like to help educate upcoming social workers? The Institute of Society and Policy at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities is seeking a number of permanent teaching lecturers. The positions are full-time, 37 hours per week, with start on 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Your duties

As a teaching lecturer, you will be attached to the Social Work Education, Aalborg University. The positions involve teaching and supervision in social work and social counseling in a broad sense. The focus is on the social worker’s core competencies and social counseling in a social-science, interprofessional, and societal context. In addition, the positions involve contributions to the coordination of education and teaching activities. 80% of the time is allocated to teaching, 20% to development tasks.

In addition to teaching, the position also includes participation in the institute’s research environment for research in social work.

We expect that you are passionate about research-based education and about connecting theory and practice in the development of future competent social workers.

Qualifications

It is assumed that applicants for the position have a relevant master's degree (e.g., cand.soc.) or similar relevant qualifications at a comparable level (e.g., several years of leadership experience from practice). A background as a social worker is an advantage but not a requirement. There must also be a positive evaluation of the applicant’s teaching qualifications.

Furthermore, it would be an advantage, but not a requirement, if applicants have experience with Problem-Based Learning (PBL), which is Aalborg University’s pedagogical model.

Salary and terms of employment

You are employed in accordance with the Executive Order on the Employment of Scientific Personnel at Universities and the Executive Order on the Job Structure for Scientific Personnel at Universities. You are employed and paid also according to the State-employee agreement and the protocol on certain employment terms for scientific personnel at universities.
