About the job

IT Manager for Havredal Practical Education

Do you have a handle on IT – and do you also have patience, humor and a desire to work with people? Then it might be you we are looking for. At Havredal Practical Education we are looking for an engaged and service-minded IT Manager , who can help us with both big and small tasks when it comes to IT and technology.

The position is 30-37 hours per week with employment starting as soon as possible .

A day where no two days are the same

As IT Manager with us you will become an important part of everyday life at Havredal. You will have a wide range of contacts and will help both students and staff with the many different IT tasks that arise in an organisation like ours.

It can for example be

  • Microsoft 365, E3, E1, Adobe, Journal system, etc.
  • Computers, tablets and other IT equipment
  • Phones and telephony
  • Internet, networks, Wi-Fi and basic knowledge of TCP/IP
  • Website and digital platforms
  • Creation and maintenance of users and access
  • Support and assistance to staff and students
  • Documentation and structure around our IT
  • General help with the IT challenges that arise in day-to-day life

In short: You should be able to do a bit of everything – and be willing to figure out the rest.

You don’t necessarily need to be a specialist in all areas. The most important is that you have a solid IT understanding, can work independently and are keen to solve problems when they arise.

People come before technology

At Havredal Practical Education we work with young people who have different backgrounds and needs. Therefore it is crucial for us that you enjoy working with our target group .

As IT Manager you will become part of our everyday life and will have daily contact with both students and staff.

That means we place great emphasis on the fact that you

  • meet people with respect and patience
  • can communicate calmly and understandably – even when IT is acting up
  • can accommodate that people learn and work differently
  • are keen to help – even when the question may seem simple
  • can remain composed when several things happen at once
  • understand that the relationship with our students always comes before the technical solution

We do not expect you to solve all problems in five minutes. Instead we expect that you want to help and will find a solution.

Who are you?

We imagine that you

  • have a relevant IT educational background or equivalent practical experience
  • have a broad understanding of IT and digital technology
  • have experience with Microsoft 365
  • are willing to work with hardware, software, networks and telephony
  • work in a structured and independent way
  • are good at prioritizing tasks
  • are service-minded and solution-oriented
  • can explain IT in a way that everyone can understand
  • have patience and a good sense of humor
  • thrive in a workday where tasks can change quickly

It is an advantage if you have experience with website, network, telephony or IT support, but

the most important for us is your approach to the task and to the people you will help.

Who are we?

We work with young people and adults who need different paths and opportunities than those the traditional education system can offer. Therefore our daily life is characterized by professionalism, practical tasks, community and close contact between staff and students.

With us you become part of a workplace where we help each other, and where there is little distance from idea to action.

We have an informal everyday life, where there is room for humor, diversity and for, that you sometimes have to solve a task you hadn’t anticipated when you arrived in the morning.

We offer

  • A varied and independent position with extensive contact with others
  • A workday where you have the opportunity to put your own mark on the IT area
  • Close collaboration with both staff and management
  • A workplace focused on development and well-being
  • A daily life with skilled and engaged colleagues
  • Opportunity to further develop and structure our IT area
