About the job

Do you want to contribute to the historically large growth of Denmark's voluntary force? And do you want to help create coherence and forward momentum in the Home Guard Command's materiel element? Here is an exciting job with great influence, independence and good colleagues.

About us

The Home Guard Command is an independent agency under the Ministry of Defence. The Home Guard Command handles the leadership and management of the Home Guard at management levels I and II. The Logistics Department is located in the Planning Division, and consists of a Materiel Element, Security Advisory Element, Establishment Element, Communications and IT Element, and the Maintenance Support Unit. The department is led by a chief, a deputy chief, and five element leaders. Right now we are accelerating the strengthening of the Home Guard both qualitatively and quantitatively.

About the position

As the head of the Materiel Element, you will be responsible for a strong team consisting of seven employees with extensive experience in materiel management, logistics and case handling. You report to the head of the Logistics Department and work closely with the other departments and partners of the Home Guard Command.

You will have daily management and coordination of cases and tasks in the Materiel Element, and ensure coherence, timeliness and quality in task execution. You will assist the materiel case handlers with sparring, professional support and development.

In addition, you will handle materiel case processing within your own areas, on par with the element's other case handlers.

The Materiel Element manages the operation and management of the Home Guard's total materiel capacities, from the Naval Home Guard vessels to individual equipment, and also handles the J4 function in the Home Guard's Operational Staff. The element has extensive interfaces with the Ministry of Defence's Materiel and Procurement Agency, the Defence Command and the Home Guard's NIV-III authorities. We place emphasis on delivering integrated solutions, and it is therefore important that you can form and maintain relationships.

The Materiel Element handles a wide range of tasks from long-term development, through planning to operations. This provides a large interface and, not least, influence in a growing and developing staff.

About you

You have documented experience in personnel management and thrive on achieving results through your staff. You are able to maintain an overview and coordinate tasks, which enables you to prioritise and allocate resources within your own element. The position requires resilience, flexibility and a holistic view of employees and tasks to be solved.

It would be advantageous if you have knowledge of case handling at NIV 1, SAP/DeMARS, materiel operations and -management and/or experience with operational logistics. You will be responsible for quality assurance of the element's written outputs and have familiarity with staff methodology and procedures.

Our areas of responsibility span widely and have a strong influence on soldier-related matters. It is therefore important that you have a great drive, think in terms of the whole, and follow cases through to the end. If you do, we reward you with extensive freedom under responsibility, a good professional environment, good colleagues, and good opportunities for sparring and personal development.

Employment terms

Note that the position is advertised both for civilian and military recruitment.

The employment is in accordance with the current collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state (Academic Agreement).

Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is a possibility for negotiating supplements. There is an employer-financed pension scheme attached to the position.

The workplace is in Vordingborg

As an employee within the Ministry of Defence's area, you are subject to certain special terms. You must, among other things, be security cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout the employment.

As an employee you have an obligation to perform service outside the country, including at units in international operations with a view to participating in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peace enforcement, humanitarian and other similar operations.

Contact and application

If you would like to hear more about the position, you are welcome to contact Christina Pojezny at phone 2052 4172.

If you have questions about salary and terms of employment you are welcome to contact the Personnel Command, HR Consultant Sofie Gadegaard at phone 3266 5585.

The application deadline is 8 November 2026 and interviews are expected to be held shortly thereafter. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.

You apply for the position via the link, and we ask you to attach your application, CV and a copy of your degree certificate. Note that attachments must be added in PDF format.

In the Ministry of Defence's organization we believe that diversity optimizes task solving. Therefore we encourage all interested parties regardless of background to apply for the position.
