We are looking for a versatile employee for our gray area, where the tasks span a wide range within the operation and maintenance of the municipality's roads, paths, traffic facilities, and other facilities. Here you will have a central role in daily operations and the opportunity to make a visible difference for the municipality's citizens.

You will have great freedom in the work and plan many of your tasks in collaboration with your operations manager. At the same time, you will become part of a strong team of dedicated colleagues who help each other when the tasks require it.

Your tasks will include

• Operation and maintenance of roads, paths, and other municipal facilities.
• Smaller repairs and remediation of damage to road areas and fixtures.
• Working with machines, equipment, and technical solutions in daily operations.
• Driving and operating the municipality's vehicles and equipment.
• Traffic safety-related tasks and urgent operational responses.
• Digital registrations and task management via Geonote as well as phone or tablet.
• Contribute to other operational tasks in the department as needed.
• Participation in winter service.

You will often work independently and go directly to the day’s tasks, but for larger tasks the work is done in collaboration with colleagues.

The position is initially 37 hours per week with working hours Monday to Thursday 07:30-15:30 and Friday 07:30-12:30. In the winter season, changes to working hours and on-call during winter service may be expected from 04:00-23:00.

We are looking for

We imagine that you have a practical background and experience with operation, contractor work, road area, machinery, or similar. The most important is not your education, but that you have technical understanding, can work independently, and thrive in a daily routine where tasks vary from day to day.

We emphasize that you

• Have experience with operation, maintenance, or contractor tasks.
• Have good mechanical understanding and an interest in machinery and equipment.
• Work independently and take responsibility for your own tasks.
• Are adaptable and thrive with a varied workday.
• Can maintain an overview when plans change.
• Have a sense of quality and want to deliver good work.
• Thrive with digital tools and can use a phone or tablet for registration and documentation.
• Are a team player who contributes to the community and helps where needed.

It is an advantage if you have experience with

• Truck driving.
• Lifting/crane work.
• Contractor machinery or other larger equipment.
• Working on or around road areas.

Additionally we expect you to

• Have a category B and BE driving license.
• Preferably have a category C or CE license.
• Have completed the course "The Road as the Workplace" or be willing to take the course as soon as possible.
• Live as close to Sorø as possible so you can meet within 30 minutes in winter on-call.

Salary and employment terms

The position is a permanent role at 37 hours per week.

Salary and employment terms are according to applicable collective agreement and the principles of local pay formation.

Start date is January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.
