Do you want to work with law close to core business in a societally critical maritime company and help translate regulatory requirements into solutions that work in practice?

DanPilot is seeking a lawyer for our secretariat. The secretariat is the link that makes strategic decisions and everyday life play together. In addition to the head of the secretariat, the secretariat consists of two lawyers, three secretariat staff, a Health, Safety, Environment & Compliance (HSEQ) manager, a secretary, a student assistant and a housekeeper.

Briefly about the position

You will get a broad legal role with particular focus on regulation of our core business, maritime and safety-related issues, as well as the increasing regulation within, among other things, cyber security and artificial intelligence. With the new position we especially want to strengthen the legal support for our core business and for areas where regulation develops quickly.

You will also be part of the secretariat's overall legal function and will therefore also work with contracts, tenders and a range of other legal and cross-cutting issues.

The position gives you the opportunity to work at the intersection of law, maritime operations, safety and technology, and you will have a large contact surface to both management and colleagues across the organization.

You will therefore work closely with, among others, our HSEQ manager and IT functions and with colleagues in the operational part of DanPilot.

You report to the head of the secretariat and will be based at DanPilot's headquarters in Svendborg.

Your primary tasks

Your task will primarily be to be legal advisor to the management and leadership and help translate complex requirements into solutions that are both legally sound and practically usable.

You will among other things come to

• advise on the regulation of DanPilot's core business and maritime and merchant shipping issues
• provide legal sparring on HSEQ and regulatory requirements affecting operational operations
• monitor new legislation and assess what it means for DanPilot
• advise IT and the organization on, among other things, NIS2, cyber security, AI and other technology and digitalization regulation
• assist with contracts, tenders and other commercial legal advice
• draft legal assessments, notes, guidelines and decision proposals
• contribute to the implementation of new regulation, including in internal policies, processes and procedures
• spar with colleagues and management on legal and regulatory issues across the organization.

Who are you?

It is important that you can understand new and complex regulation and translate it into clear and applicable advice. You therefore do not need to already be a specialist in all the areas you will work with.

We imagine that you

• are cand.jur. or cand.merc.jur. and want a broad role, where you work closely with both the business and daily operations
• have a strong legal methodological approach and can quickly get into new legal areas
• are interested in regulation and the interaction between law and practical reality
• can handle complex issues and communicate them simply and precisely – often with short lead time
• work independently, structured and analytical
• are pragmatic and solution-oriented without compromising legal quality
• thrive with a large contact surface and collaboration with both legal and non-legal professionals
• want to take responsibility for your own areas and at the same time participate in close professional collaboration with the other lawyers in the secretariat.

It is an advantage if you have experience with

• regulatory advisory or compliance
• merchant shipping, transport law or other regulation of maritime or safety-critical areas
• HSEQ, safety regulation and/or authority requirements
• NIS2, cyber security, AI or other IT and technology regulation
• contracts and commercial advice
• public tenders.

We do not expect that you can do it all. We place greater weight on your personality, your legal core profile and ability to understand new areas than on being a specialist in all areas.
