Do you want to lead a small department where hands-on leadership, high professionalism and multidisciplinary collaboration make a noticeable difference every day?

As our current department head retires, we are seeking an engaged leader for a specialized department with 10 residences for adults with developmental disabilities and congenital functional impairments. The citizens have diverse and complex support needs, and several require extensive help with personal care and health-related interventions.

The staff consists of both pedagogically and health-professionally trained employees. Your key task will be to bring the professions together around one common goal: to create quality of life, security, development and self-determination for each resident.

About the position: As department head you will be responsible for personnel management, daily operations and professional development in the department. You will also have management responsibility for a team of house assistants who work across the house.

You must be a visible and accessible leader for all shifts. You will create structure, set direction and support the staff's professional development. At the same time, you will ensure that the residents' pedagogical, health-related and care needs are considered together.

Your main tasks will be to

• handle personnel management, professional leadership and daily operations
• lead and develop the multidisciplinary staff group and the team of house assistants
• create a common professional direction across pedagogy, health and care
• ensure quality in documentation, action plans and health-related interventions
• support professional reflection, well-being and competence development
• work systematically with the working environment and a strong sense of workplace community
• collaborate with citizens, relatives, authorities and other partners

Our professional approach: We work with Marte Meo and Low Arousal. This means that we base our work on the citizens' resources and work calmly, respectfully and proactively to reduce stress and conflicts.

We use triage to early identify changes in citizens' health, well-being and functional level. In multidisciplinary coordination meetings we bring together the relevant perspectives and ensure a common direction and follow-up regarding the individual citizen.

As department head you will play a central role in translating our methods into a coherent and meaningful practice.

Part of a strong leadership team: You will become part of a leadership team with five department heads and the center director. Hyrdehøj consists of 22 acute beds, 71 somatic nursing home beds and 10 special beds in Blomsterhuset, which you will lead. In February 2027 we will expand with an additional 10 somatic nursing home beds, so Hyrdehøj will have a total of 81 somatic beds.

In the leadership team we collaborate, share knowledge and collectively take on operational and strategic tasks. We expect you to actively contribute with your professional expertise, stand independently in your management role and help find solutions across the house.

• have a relevant pedagogical or health-professional education
• have management experience or solid experience with professional coordination
• have a Diploma in Leadership, another relevant leadership education or desire to undertake one
• understand working with adults with developmental disabilities and complex support needs
• can lead different professional groups and create a common direction
• are clear, empathetic, structured and relationship-building
• communicate confidently and respectfully
• have an eye for stable operations, professional quality, work environment and long-term development
• experience with Low Arousal, triage, health-related documentation and multidisciplinary coordination is an advantage
