About the job
We are not looking for someone who is just at work. We are looking for someone who is present! An adult who takes initiative, builds relationships and dares to put themselves in the game. A colleague who knows that good pedagogy is not only about what we do, but about what happens between people.
At Klubben Søndervang we believe in strong relationships, professionalism and communities where children and young people feel they belong. We have ambitions for our pedagogical work, and we are looking for a colleague who wants to be an active part of it.
Can you see yourself with us?
Then Klubben Søndervang in UngiAarhus VEST may be your future workplace.
We are a dynamic workplace in development, where we continuously adapt and qualify our pedagogical practice to ensure high quality in our work with our children and young people.
We believe that good pedagogy starts with strong relationships, present adults and the ability to see each individual child as a valuable part of the community.
With us, clear expectations, shared direction, professional reflection and follow-up are a natural part of everyday life.
Our starting point is simple: It’s about the children!
What can we offer you?
- A workplace in development with a clear shared direction
You will become part of a club with ambitions for the pedagogical work, where we together create attractive and developmental leisure and youth environments.
We start from the needs, resources and interests of the children and young people and bring our various professional competencies into play to create meaningful activities and communities.
We are curious about our practice and have the courage to think anew and adjust course when it creates greater value for the children and the young people.
- A strong working community with engagement and surplus
We want a workplace characterized by joy of work, engagement and a strong collegial community where we help each other succeed.
We value clear communication, mutual respect and a shared responsibility for everyday tasks. With us, we support each other to succeed and contribute to a daily life with energy, surplus and room for both smiles and professional deepening.
We believe that a good working environment and strong collaboration create the best conditions for meeting the children and the young people with calm, presence and a positive approach, even when everyday life is busy.
- Relational and pedagogical presence as the foundation
You will have the opportunity to become a meaningful adult in the children’s and young people’s leisure lives and help create safe frames where they feel they belong.
We prioritize present adults who take the initiative to contact, show genuine interest and meet the children and the young people with warmth, clarity and positive expectations.
With us, activities are a pedagogical tool to create relationships, well-being and participation in communities - not a goal in itself.
- Clear leadership, professional sparring and development
You will become part of a workplace with clear leadership, explicit expectations and a shared pedagogical direction.
We work systematically with planning, reflection, evaluation and follow-up, so we continuously develop our practice and ensure quality in the core task.
You can expect leadership that is available for dialogue and professional sparring, follows up on common agreements and supports your professional development.
Additionally, UngiAarhus offers various competence and development programs through the course committee. We place a high value on upskilling and see professional development as a shared responsibility.
We believe that job satisfaction, strong relationships and high pedagogical quality go hand in hand. When we succeed together as professional adults, we create the best conditions for the children and the young people to thrive, develop and become part of meaningful communities.
Because in the end it’s all about the children!
Who are you?
We are looking for an educator who is passionate about relationship work, meets the children and the young people with contagious energy and wants to make a positive difference in their leisure lives.
You are a trained educator or have a social-educational education and preferably experience from club settings or other leisure education practice. The most important for us is your pedagogical professionalism, your commitment and your ability to create strong relationships.
We imagine that you are an outgoing, approachable and initiative-taking person who thrives in interaction with children and young people. You have natural energy, are curious about those you meet, and can create security, joy and participation in the community.
We place particular emphasis on you
- Are strong in relationship work. You are proactive, present and genuinely interested in the children and the young people. You naturally take initiative to contact and manage to build trusting relationships with both individuals and larger groups.
- Have energy, engagement and pedagogical surplus. You are a visible and active adult who contributes to a positive atmosphere and meets the children and the young people with warmth, humor and clarity - even when everyday life presents challenges.
- Dare to put yourself in play. You are not afraid to step forward, take initiative and be an active part of the children’s and the young people’s communities. You use your personality, humor and commitment to create contact, enthusiasm and good experiences, where you as an adult can lead, participate, and give room for the children’s and the young people’s own initiatives.
- Are professionally well-founded and reflective. You have an eye for the children and the young people’s different needs and prerequisites and can translate your professionalism into concrete pedagogical actions. You are curious about your own practice and want to develop yourself through reflection, sparring and joint evaluation.
- Take responsibility and contribute to the shared direction. You work independently, take initiative and follow your tasks through to the end. You see the value in clear agreements, common goals and professional collaboration, where we help each other succeed with the core task. You proactively reach out to your manager or colleagues if you are in doubt about a task or the best way to solve it.
- Have an eye for the community and the children’s participation opportunities. You work inclusively and resourcefully and are focused on creating frameworks where children and young people with different needs and prerequisites feel they belong. Knowledge of special education is an advantage.
- Are an engaged and collaboration-oriented colleague. You contribute to a good working environment with a positive attitude, clear communication and a desire to share knowledge and experiences. You thrive on professional sparring and see collaboration as an important part of the pedagogical work.
- See possibilities in cross-disciplinary collaboration. You want to collaborate with school and other professionals to create coherence and good development opportunities in the everyday life of the children and the young people.
You do not need to be an expert in specific activities. We are far more concerned with your ability to use activities as a pedagogical tool to create relationships, development and meaningful communities.
The position involves work two evenings a week, where you become an important part of our youth club and our work with the young people.
In short, we are looking for a colleague who has heart, both feet on the ground and a strong professional background in their backpack.
Who are we?
Klubben Søndervang is part of UngiAarhus VEST and is based at Søndervangskolen, where we work every day to create a safe, attractive and meaningful leisure life for children and young people.
We accommodate both a leisure club for children from 4th to 6th grade and a youth club for young people from 7th grade up to the age of 18. Our club has a large and diverse catchment area, which includes Rosenhøj, Kjærslund and Søndervang, but we also welcome children and young people from the rest of Aarhus.
We meet children and young people with different backgrounds, interests, resources and needs. This creates an exciting and vibrant everyday life, where relationships, communities and pedagogical presence are crucial to our work.
We are more than a leisure offer - we are an important part of the daily lives and local area of the children and the young people.
Therefore we prioritise a close and committed collaboration with parents and families, Søndervangskolen, Get2Sport, the housing-social actors, Gadeplan and the outreach teams. Through dialogue, joint efforts and strong relationships across, we work to create coherence, well-being and good development opportunities for the children and the young people.
Our close connection to Søndervangskolen also gives us good opportunities to create coherence between the children's school life and leisure life, where we through joint efforts and close collaboration support their well-being, development and participation in positive communities.
You will become part of a staff group where we together work to develop a strong pedagogical community with a clear direction and high ambitions for our core task.
At the same time you will become part of the larger professional and collegial community in UngiAarhus VEST, where there are opportunities for knowledge sharing, professional networks and participation in joint development activities.
