Kitchen assistant for the Sandholm and Sjælsmark centers (evening shift)

The Danish Red Cross asylum department is seeking a kitchen assistant in the evening shift for the Sandholm and Sjælsmark centers, as we have taken on more tasks in our kitchens.

Center Sandholm is a reception center for all new asylum seekers coming to Denmark, and at the center there is a large kitchen with a canteen.

However, the Danish Red Cross has taken over the large-scale kitchen operations at the Departure Center Sjælsmark, which is a 5-minute drive from Sandholm. The Sjælsmark Departure Center is run by the Danish Prison Service, but the Red Cross is present at the center with a number of services to the center's residents in accordance with the contract with the Danish Immigration Service. This means there will also be kitchen tasks at Sjælsmark Center, which are conducted in collaboration with the Reception Center Sandholm.

As a kitchen worker you, in close collaboration with your colleagues, the kitchen coordinator and the kitchen manager, are responsible for delivering healthy and varied high-quality meals and complying with safety, hygiene and health regulations within large-scale kitchen operations.

The overall task of the Red Cross asylum department is to create good frameworks for a safe, meaningful and dignified everyday life with future prospects for asylum seekers while they stay under the Red Cross's auspices.

Arbejdsopgaver

• Prepare food items and cook meals
• Distribute meals and check off meal tickets
• Ensure that tidying up and cleaning after meals takes place appropriately
• Ensure compliance with hygienic regulations
• Put stock in place
• Ensure tasks are performed according to self-inspection procedures
• Contribute to the implementation of internal practices within the field.

Kvalifikationer

• Relevant education and documented experience in large-scale kitchen operations
• Valid hygiene certificate
• Good at collaborating and communicating with people from other cultures
• Can work independently and participate in cross-disciplinary collaboration with other professional groups
• Flexible and adaptable
• Speaks English and/or German at a user level. Knowledge of other languages is an advantage.

Løn- og ansættelsesvilkår

You will be employed under the agreement with FOA (State)

Arbejdstid: 37 hours, with evening shifts all seven days of the week

Tiltrædelse: As soon as possible and no later than January 1, 2027

Kørekort: Required, as travel in connection with task execution will occur

Arbejdssted: Primarily at Sandholmgårdsvej 40, 3460 Birkerød, but there will be tasks at Sjælsmark Departure Center located at Sjælsmarkvej 10, 2970 Hørsholm

Attester: Please note that at the time of employment a child protection clearance will be requested, and you must present a private criminal record. Handling tasks at Sjælsmark Departure Center additionally requires the Danish Prison Service security clearance.
