Structural Engineer for Banedanmark's Bridge Projects

Take the responsibility for designing some of Denmark's most complex civil engineering projects

You will be responsible for prominent bridge and structural projects and follow them from the initial analyses and ideas through design, procurement and execution.

As a central technical profile you ensure coherence in the technical solutions and guide the projects safely through the entire process in close collaboration with relevant disciplines.

We are seeking an experienced engineer with solid knowledge of insulation of concrete bridges, repair of concrete damage and maintenance of existing bridges.

Meet your new department

You will become part of the in-house design team in the Bridges and Constructions section with more than 40 specialized colleagues who share the ambition to develop strong technical solutions.

Here there is room to be a specialist, but also to learn from each other. We actively use one another for technical sparring, and we place importance on sharing knowledge and helping each other when tasks become complex.

You will therefore have the opportunity to bring your existing experience into play as well as to develop yourself further.

You will be the technical driving force

As a designing engineer you will be a central professional profile on our bridge renewal projects. You will be responsible for the design of bridges, tunnels and other civil structures and play a key role in coordinating between advisers, contractors, authorities and internal specialists.

You ensure that the projects hang together technically, in terms of quality and time, while contributing to the technical decisions that shape the final solutions.

You will among other things

• design bridge and civil engineering structures
• ensure coherence between technique, quality, time and other disciplines
• coordinate interfaces between advisers, contractors and internal disciplines
• contribute to technical analyses and decisions throughout the project lifecycle
• follow the projects from the initial ideas to tendering and execution
• provide technical sparring to colleagues and partners on technical solutions in bridge and civil engineering projects

You have solid experience with design of bridges and structures and are motivated to translate your expertise into solutions that work in practice. You thrive on both technical depth and cross-disciplinary collaboration, and you can balance details with the overall project view.

You are curious, actively participate in technical discussions and are happy to challenge existing solutions when you see better opportunities. At the same time you freely share your knowledge and contribute to the development of your colleagues.

We imagine that you

• are educated as a building engineer or building designer
• have at least 5 years of experience with design of bridges or structures, e.g. with a consultant, contractor or public client
• have a good technical understanding and translate complex professional knowledge into practical solutions
• have the desire and ability to be a technical sparring partner for less experienced colleagues
• thrive in both design, coordination and collaboration

Salary and employment terms

You will be employed under the applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state.

You will be placed based on academic seniority and experience as a senior consultant or principal consultant, in accordance with the applicable collective agreement, which you can find here, and the Employee and Competence Agency's salary overview, which you can find here.

Depending on your qualifications and competencies there is the possibility of negotiating a supplement. There will be an employer-financed pension scheme at 18.07%.
