About the job

  • help ensure the quality in our concrete production

At IBF Beton in Esbjerg we produce concrete for construction projects across the region. Quality is crucial in everything we do, and therefore we are looking for a laboratory technician who wants to play an important role in quality assurance of our products.

You will become part of a dedicated team at the plant in Esbjerg, where collaboration, professionalism and integrity are key words in daily life. At the same time you will be part of a close collaboration with our surrounding concrete plants, for example in Aabenraa, Tarm and Give, where you will contribute to larger projects and peak workloads as needed.

About the job

As a laboratory technician at IBF Beton you will be responsible for a range of laboratory- and quality-related tasks that help ensure our concrete meets applicable requirements and high quality standards.

You will primarily work at the concrete plant in Esbjerg, but there will be occasional workdays at our surrounding concrete plants in connection with larger projects or the need for extra staffing.

You will work closely with the plant’s batch master and will be an important sparring partner when it comes to quality and documentation.

Your tasks

Your primary tasks will be

  • Sampling of tests and execution of quality tests
  • Registration and entry of results
  • Calibration and control of laboratory equipment
  • Follow-up on quality and documentation
  • Contribute to ensuring compliance with applicable quality requirements and procedures

In addition, you will as needed help with

  • Mixing concrete at our automated concrete plant
  • Relief at the batching office
  • Receiving customer orders
  • Ordering of materials
  • Occasional tasks at the plant and site

Who are you?

You have a sense for quality and work in a structured way. You thrive with both practical and administrative tasks and are motivated by getting things done properly.

We expect that you

  • Work systematically and detail-oriented
  • Have a good knowledge of IT and documentation
  • Take responsibility for your tasks and follow them through
  • Thrive with collaboration across functions and locations
  • Are positive, welcoming and reliable
  • Have a driving license and are open to occasional workdays at surrounding concrete plants

Experience from the concrete industry is not a requirement. The most important is that you want to learn and contribute to the community. Of course, we provide thorough training in the tasks.

Why choose IBF

At IBF you get a job in a solid company with orderly conditions and a focus on quality. We continuously invest in both plants, technology and more sustainable solutions, and we emphasize that things are done properly.

You can look forward to

  • A stable workplace with responsibility and influence
  • A good collegial community where people help each other
  • Thorough training and opportunities for professional development
  • A daily life close to production and the construction projects you deliver to
  • Opportunity to work across multiple plants and gain broad knowledge of concrete production
  • A company that takes responsibility both locally and long-term

About IBF

We say Concrete for the Time. For us, time is about more than production – it’s about timely advisory, delivery and collaboration, because we know how crucial time is in the construction industry. We are Action-Oriented, Responsible and Respectful. These three values form the foundation of everything we do – and together we take responsibility to succeed.

With a focus on responsibility we have set an ambitious goal to reduce CO2 emissions in the group by 70% by the end of 2030, and we already have products in both paving, drainage and factory concrete with significant CO2 reductions. For example, we can change CO2 emissions from 229.9 kg CO2/m3 to 127.9 kg CO2/m3 in a C25/30 factory concrete by replacing conventional cement with alternative materials.

We are a family-owned company with about 900 colleagues spread across 40 locations nationwide. Everyday life at IBF is informal and characterized by a flat structure. There is room for initiative and responsibility. We listen to new ideas and reward those who take ownership. We believe that diversity is a strength – and perhaps it is you we are missing on the team.
